I haven't seen the stream yet (I will this weekend) but I think that if the pictures are any indication, then Cosmos supporters are some of the best supporters in the country. I keep thinking that the Cosmos would be a great MLS side...but that bridge is burned. Maybe once Garber finally leaves the position the two sides will come up with something that'll see the Cosmos regain their former glory their supporters brag about.
OT but Garber isn't the reason the Cosmos aren't in MLS. Whether he is around or not won't change anything. Now the guys who hire Garber, if they have a change of heart or change of people, and the Cosmos do the same, sure, then that might happen. RE: pyro, the Dynamo do allow smoke bombs under very controlled circumstances. Not as good as it used to be back in the day, but hey it's a start after years of arguing for them at BBVA.
The Cosmos not being in MLS rests solely in the laps of their ownership group. So the only change that would increase the odds of the Cosmos getting into MLS is on the team's side of the table..
This is a completely fabricated story. The circlejerk surrounding it is as ridiculous as "MLS should relocate Kansas City" and "We are a top 8 league in the world." It is pretty well documented that MLS and Cosmos were still in negotiations, and when Sheikh Mansour entered MLS cut all ties with the Cosmos. Any grievances aired by Seamus O'Brien regarding IP and salary caps were negotiating tactics to bring down the expansion fee from $100 million, not red lines. That much is clear to anyone who was remotely paying attention to the negotiations, and in my case, met with Seamus and Garber personally (separately, of course). But anyway, let's get back on topic.
It's easy to make up your own history or parrot someone else's from Denver or Seattle or Kansas City, without having spoken a word to anyone involved. Seamus has on multiple occasions publicly stated that he doesn't feel $100 million expansion fee was worth it, and that the money would be better spent on the club. Everything else was motivated by bringing that fee down. This isn't the thread to talk about it so I won't continue after that.
How about we leave this thread to talking about supporters photos, and take the Cosmos vs. MLS BS somewhere else.
Agreed about the club smack talk - this isn't the place for it. Also, in a case of when going too far nixes something completely, the "hot girl at home selfies" were generally problematic in this thread, but that last Galaxy one was definitely over the line/soft core, which violates site rules in general. So they are all out going forward too.
I like the way y'all in Finland think homie. There are those of us turbo hinchas that love our MLS team and go long on pyro use. Us in Houston have been pumping orange smoke and lighting adult candles since our very first game! We are told to not do it but we gives a fuk what the suits think. They have been banning more and more often here in 2014 and now 2015 however, but that is what they dO! Here is us Houston junkies on game night in our end, versus our eternal rival Dallas. 2007, home 4 - 1 victory that night Strummer. And here is us when we go on the road, this was in 2009 iirc.
I got some serious Gravity Falls vibes when I saw this tifo. And I'm surprised that the Timbers haven't incoporated Gravity Falls into their displays, considering that Gravity Falls takes place in Oregon.
I'm taking the wife and kids and heading up to POR to check out the game against the 'Caps on 7/18. I can't wait. Watching the game I showed my wife this shot of the tifo and said "we'll be sitting right around the corner from something like this." Her eyes almost popped out of her head.
What happened to this thread? It used to be the best collection of MLS supporters pictures anywhere. This page goes back to June.
