Taking a month off in the summer to allow for international play is a great idea. Leagues all over the world do it and Blatter has been pushing it for quite some time now. It would make more potential fans see the relationship between MLS player development and national team success. In addition, an "MLS Challenge series" against foreign clubs is also a great idea. Those games, if planned far enough in advance, could be worked into season ticket packages and draw large crowds. I would suggest a four team round robin tournament if at all possible. This instead of just a one day exhibition against a club's reserve squad would be more compelling for established and potential fans.
