According to a very nice gentleman at Comcast
(who recently took over or merged with AT&T
cable) informed me that anyone who has Comcast
digital service will be able to get the Shootout
Package this year beginning May 4th. The package
will carry all MLS televised games and can be
ordered at $5.95 per game or $69. for the
entire season. I was told that I could not order
it yet as the "codes" for that were not in yet
to program the box. He did however assure me
that anyone in New England or anywhere that
has Comcast digital can get this package. It
will be on channels 422-426 per his info.
I for one hope that this is really true!!

That's fantastic! Especially that we'll be able to order one game. I wouldn't buy the whole package because I don't have time to watch all the games, but I would definitely buy a few.

Why is Comcast charging $69, when the going rate is $49?

Prices snipped from the MLS shootout announcement.

    Dish Network - (residential): $49.00

I for one don't mind paying the extra $20 if
in fact I don't have the hassle of getting
a dish etc. Multiple games all season long?
Twenty bucks extra to me is well worth it.
But hey to each his own, but it just seems like
its been way too long that I have seen an MLS
game and at this point I'd probably pay $20 a
game :) just to feel back in "soccer mode"
    Can't wait!!!!!

Can anyone here clear up the relationship between RCN and Comcast? Comcast lineups are listed on the RCN website....but, I've received phone messages from RCN saying that they "are not Comcast". Anyone have any anecdotes? There's no way I trust talking to a phone rep over at RCN on the issue.

I just made the move from cable to satellite, and I must say, I'm glad I did.

If ComCast is chaging $20 more than DirecTv, then I'd seriously consider switching. Satellite offers so much more than I was aware of.
