My cable company Cablevision, did not carry the MLS Shoot-Out pkg last year. Maybe it was due to its late introduction. They do carry ever other Indemand sports league package.

I have contacted them but I have not received an answer as to whether or not they will carry this year. If more of us request it, maybe it will influence their decision. If you have cablevision please contact them through www.cablevision.com (contact corporate office) and tell them that you will subscribe if it is offered.

That's actually one of the reasons why I went with Direct TV. BTW, is there anyone out there that has DTV and the sports package (with FSW, FSNY, FSNE, FSLA, FS etc...)? The reason I ask is I'm thinking about getting that so I can watch most MLS games through the Fox Sports regional channels. Does anyone know if that's possible? Or should I get the Shootout package?

You have to get the shootout package. Anything that has a "package" gets blocked out, meaning you wont see any NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLS on regional channels. It's really a ripoff because everything is pretty much blocked out unless you wanna see regional sports news from some other places. So you'd really be paying $10 extra for FSW, MSG, FSNY, and YES, the rest is crap if you ask me. Just dont be expecting to watch any sort of actual games on the Fox channels.

You should also write Indemand. No one probably knows anything right now, but if you write Indemand, they usually write back quickly, and they may contact Cablevision to see what's up.

But the shootout package won't show all the New England games or the chicago games. Just some. So whatever the shootout package doesn't show I should be able to see on those regional channels like FSNE and FSChicago that televise the game right?

I just e-mailed them to find out about the package.

If they contact me, which I doubt, I'll post. Thanks Red card for the kick in the pants and I hope other Long Isladers follow suit and e-mail or phone Cablevision because they are very thick over there.

    Go Metros!!!!!

Welcome, Ricardo, Mike, Eddie and Tim!

Someone who knows better can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that you will receive any out of market games on regional sports networks, even if they are not included in the Shootout Package.

Also, I think the games that aren't included in Shootout are probably the ESPN2/ABC games.

To really be specific about it, only the live pro (package) games are blacked out. You'd get HS football from Fox Sports Soutwest, etc... You also get the games when they air them on tape after having already been shown live.

For instance, you live in Dallas and don't have the shootout pacakge. You want to watch a Metro-Crew game that was aired live on MSG. If they do what they did for most of the games last year (air live, replay at midnight), you would be able to watch the replay at midnight. This of course predicates the station wanting to replay the game. It's happened before, but isn't an everyday thing. Not like with baseball or basketball or hockey, where the game is replayed late at night.

DirecTV is the way to go. They will offer it for sure, although no word yet on pricing.

    From inDemand, 5:20 ET Monday:

    Hello-

We do not yet have an agreement in place with MLS, but will post information to our website once information becomes available.

    Thanks for your interest.

Also e-mailed Cablevision, no word yet from them (although today was a holiday for some, maybe tomorrow).
