Wow, we have a TON of Thursday and Sunday games.

Always prefer the Saturday night ties, but ESPN2 and Telefutura obviously want Blanco and more Blanco.

The Fire have re-branded? (Not a fan of the new "Earthquakes" logo nor the Western Conference-centric schedule). Gotta love MLSnet.

So is the game on 4/12 a practice that we have to pay for?

Not unless you're planning on flying out to San Jose. Anyone want my tickets for 6/28? ;)

15 home games. 3 on Thursday, 3 on Sunday, 9 on Saturday. Every home game from 4/26 - 9/6 is on a Saturday.

Over half of the Fire home games are on TV. Kudos to Guppy! Job well done.

And only 4 HDNet broadcasts. That's awesome

With an even number of teams again, we have the weekend off after each of our six Thursday matches. Also, we are never on the road for more than two games in a row.
We play a balanced home and away schedule against the western conference teams. In the east we play NE, KC, DC and NY three times and Toronto and Columbus twice. Our extra road games are in NE and KC and our extra home games are against NY and DC.

One home game in May among away games with NE, DC and NYRB...but 5 home games in September & October with trips to Colorado, KC and Toronto in between.

The schedule is set up for us to come out of the gates strong. Hopefully we have a good first half of the season because August and September is going to be tough.

The last time our first game of the season was a home game...was 2003 against NE.

This year we're in Utah...because of the great weather Utah has in March.

Not a fan of the 3 home games in April...can't the other cities with better weather host April games?

    But whatever, I'll be there...

    Kozy,

Since the opener is in that state with the watered-down beer I suggest we find a venue to watch the game (once the TV schedule is out). Bing and Loinxx (i hope my spelling is correct) keep the date open.

Speaking of Salt Lake city. Has anyone ever seen the movie "Salt Lake City Punk" Growing up in South eastern Idaho I have fond memories of Utah kids buying our "real" beer and taking it back over the border. I am sooo glad I don't live there anymore... although if the Fire had moved to Boise as was suggested a few months back I would have had some family connections.

The movie is called "SLC Punk" and it's a great punk movie (although the music...not so great). Matthew Lillard is terrific in it (and there aren't too many times one can say that). Highly recommended.

Thanks on the "SLC Punk" title. My bad... I could not remember that the actors name was Mathew Lillard. All I could think of was that he was one of the crazy killers from "Scream" and he battled alien space cats in that video game movie with Freddy Prince Jr. I agree he was really good in "SLC Punk" though. My wife doesn't understand the nostalgic moods I get in when I watch it.

I'll consult the 'magic 8 ball', *shakes the water-filled globe**looks at the circle glass panel* it says...
    "yes, definately" ...

(Any input is welcome) We should have it all figured out by 3/21/08. ;)

    Peace,
    Kozy

I'll give him Kudos if he could get all the away games on TV (that is the ones that are not already on ESPN2 and TeleFutra)

ESPN2 games:5/8 at DC United; 6/19 at CD Chivas; 8/21 at Los Angeles (3 games)
TeleFutura games: 5/25 at New York; 6/15 at FC Dallas; 9/14 at Colorado; 10/5 at Kansas City (4 games)

That leaves 8 away games that are not on free TV yet, so do your job Guppy and get those 8 games on free TV (CSN, UPN or whoever you could get).

Yes, Guppy sure had a lot to do with the ESPN, FSC, Telefutra, and HDNet broadcast schedules.
