Just read it....it's crap. Since this post is so vague here's a sampling: The post is much longer with the alleged email with the rumor details as well.
What nonsense that site tries to pass off...they show months-old renderings as proof that a financial collapse that happened a couple of weeks ago is affecting the stadium? Would everyone please remember that most of the money for the stadium is coming from government sources? Damn.
Did not mean to be vague but since I am not from Philly I just wanted to make you guys awared before giving my two cents. I do beleive this is BS specialy beacuse it chooses Montreal before many others with better chances.
I understand the market is in a downturn, but you've got to be frakkin kidding me! I put a whole lot more faith in what Nick said in the last chat, "Be patient, this is the calm before the storm." and what Bryan alluded to, 'We need to realize the Phillies are in the World Series, we need to wait until it's completion before things like the groundbreaking are announced' (A rough paraphrase, true, but the point is very valid) I don't know what will happen to the housing part of the development, or when, but I'm sure the commercial aspects are still on track, and most of the stadium costs are already committed to, by PA, Delco, and the Port Authority. Sit tight, boys and girls. Sure, there is a chance this is true, but an asteroid might collide with Earth and destroy the planet. IMHO, the odds are pretty much even longshots.
This Is BS because they chose Montreal over Miami ( who actually wants in by 2010). So if they have said Philly could be replace by Miami Then I would probably believe but Montreal Ha.
Just so you know the rumour started on the Voyageurs board based on a poster called brownbear:- http://www.canadian-soccer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17950&whichpage=1 My guess would be that if this is legit (and that is a big if) MLS simply have a contingency plan in place that they very much hope not to have to use. Any well run business operation prepares for all eventualities. Worth bearing in mind that Rochester was plan B for a long time on that sort of basis if rumours are to be believed but eventually never got in.
Latest updated news... In addition to these reports of a potential relocation of a potential franchise in the potential event that the potential investors potentially lost some of their potential money... we have this latest report just received from highly placed sources.
i wish the part about Philly ditching the cool looking roof was not true too. Please tell me that was completely made up too. PLEASE!
I hope all is well with Philly. As a NY fan the only thing that sent shivers up my spine was the poster who quoted what Nick "the dick" said. Real bad memories. Real bad. Not someone anyone in our town could/would ever believe again. To many lies...way to many. Hope it's completely different down there. It has to be.
Hahaha, too funny... http://mlsrumorsrumors.blogspot.com/2008/09/rumor-dc-united-to-send-richmond.html

Man, I just spit out a mouthful of chewed bagel as I read the above. Ha, ha! As a MetroBulls fan, I have to say to all of you Philly guys: Never put a whole lot of faith in whatever Nicky Sack says, especially if it ends with his signature '60-90 days'.
Wow, that's the first time we've heard that. Can you tell me who was the GM when you guys made your only cup final (albeit, a US Open Cup Final instead of MLSCup)?
Last fall we took a trip to the Redneck Riviera and one night took the kids on a See the Dolphins boat ride. When we got the edge of the bay the motor quit and the captain said he was going to check out the situation, meanwhile the boat is rocking back and forth heavily. Just then the loudspeaker breaks out with Every Little Thing's Gonna Be Alright. I wasn't worried until they started playing that song.... But I think you have it right in this case.
