OSI Referee of the Year Nominees.

    Referee Hometown Note:
Brian Hall Gilroy, CA First American-born referee to run middle for a World Cup match (2002)

Kevin Stott Rancho Cucamonga, CA Referee for MLS Cup 2001, FIFA-accredited referee

Kevin Terry Carrollton, TX Referee for MLS Cup 2002, FIFA-accredited referee

Not sure how Hall can 'technically' deserve it, since he only reffed 3 MLS regular season games, but in my mind, he certainly 'deserves' it in the true sense of the word, as he proved himself this year at the WC and came back from what, by all accounts, was a subpar season last year.

Anyway, Stott always seems to finish second for this award (behind Baharmast or Tamberino, guess it's a style thing), so I'm not sure if he'll take it this year. Terry might be the choice, if they truly base it on MLS play and not take into account Hall's WC performance. Thoughts?

So does this mean that Kevin already has the 2002 MLS Cup assignment?

Not a typo. Terry for the Cup. Good choice. And should be him or Stott for Ref of the year. No disrespect to Hall, but with 3 games, you shouldnt be eligible.

I agree with you Terry for the Cup, Stott wont be fourth because LA is in it, Probably Kennedy then. But still MLSNET should have put the 1998 reference as part of his biography.

Kevin Stott gets my vote..just for grins, isn't there a way we can set up a vote here...since my ballot has not yet arrived in the mail. I will start a new thread and see where it goes...
