MLS Team Rankings - 5/12 Update (Previous week) Top o' the table. 1. (1) San Jose. Thank goodness no one got hit by lightning. I'm worried about Donovan getting worn down. MOTM: Pat Onstead. 2. (2) Columbus. Looking Good, Billy Ray. (Anyone with the movie and return line?) 3. (4) Kansas City. Nice Road win. 4. (5) New Jersey. I thought the 'Jints, er Mets, er Taxis should have scored a few more. Mathis is on top of his game. Is this the most attractive Metros team ever? White bread. 5. (3) Los Angeles. Wow. Utterly pathetic against New England. Frankly, the first 20-30 minutes of the match were utterly unwatchable. The difference was that LA stayed unwatchable the entire match. This team really needs a playmaker. 6. (8) Chicago. Had their moments Saturday night. Andy Williams was aboslutely robbed by Onstead 7. (10) New England. NE's strategy coming clear to me now: Lull opposing team to sleep, then pounce. I really like the all-US trioka of JMM, Ralston & TT - when they are on the same page and not whining. Hide the women & children. 8. (6) DC. For all their talent, this team is a train wrecj right now. I've heard the rationale for the big trade re-hased 100 times - but I will never understand why the team traded Pope. At least they didn't break anyone's leg. 9. (7) Colorado. Maybe it was the lack of altitude, or a lack of attitude. Speaking of attitude, CC didn't score a goal after whining his way to the forward position. What gives? 10. (9) Dallas. And thank goodness for small favors. I'm not counting, but I think we're down to 27 matches at Dragon HIGH SCHOOL stadium. I'll wish Dallas well in two years, but until then its hopes of pestilence and plague.
I think you need to put Dallas ahead of Colorado and DC...at least they were capable of scoring a goal last weekend.
Yeah, but DC & Colorado were at home. Dallas was playing at home on that crap turf - where they should have a HUGE homefield advantage.
What is there to understand or question? DCU's defense has been pretty solid so far this season. I would argue they've been better with Petke than Pope. I don't think you can blame their lack of scoring on the loss of Eddie Pope.
