D.C. United - San Jose Earthquakes [3:1]- George Carlin gives the pregame pep talk, telling the United players that they should be sick and tired of the Earthquakes' analytical sh!t. For reasons known only to Carlin, it works and United rolls to a 3-1 win.

Saturday, July 16
DPP: Chicago Fire - Columbus Crew [1:0]- Fire score in the 1st minute, then connect on 1,385 straight passes in the midfield to earn the 1-0 win over the Greg Andrulis should be canned band.

MetroStars - Colorado Rapids [1:1]- Rapids don't have enough to win this game, I don't think, but they have just enough fight to hold off SuperClub and grab a point.

New England Revolution - FC Dallas [99:100]
- Eric Cantona takes the mic at midfield, after ejecting the national anthem singer out kung-fu style. He then proclaims, "First to 100 wins!," and Bobby Rhine's 26th of the game lifts Meat Lovers to the win.

Kansas City Wizards - Real Salt Lake [3:1]
- Bo knows giving up goals, but not even Bo and his LFFC mates can blow this one. For fvck's sake, RSL gave up 5 to Chivas last week! Five! Chivas!

Los Angeles Galaxy - Chivas USA [2:3]
- The overconfident landlords are going to get punk'd by the upstart tenants, as three players I've never heard of score goals to grab a shocking 3 points for the Goats. Following the loss, Steve Sampson is immediately given a 3-year contract extension.

 

Week 16 and I'm over 100 points. Not bad considering I missed weeks 2 & 3 completely. Now then, on the Blackburn Rovers supporters board, when they do match predictions, we also have someone who gives scores in rugby format. To that he's never won, so I question the logic of using a basketball score, especially with Steve Nicol's band of scrambling national team wannabes. Thanks heavens we don't have the same transfer value blowups from one good season. Otherwise, Jay Heaps would be at max salary, and we'd still be yelling "Car-o-lin-a" at him. Anyway...

Friday - a friday match, an excuse to either not have to work at the club, or at least postpone my intoxicated form of dancing. But I think something special happens this week. I think the kid decides to gte ticked off at the world, and goes nuts. An awesome week of training sees Adu at F. And Adu becomes the first player in the league (that i know of) to hit a hat trick and be red-carded (both for retaliation fouls after being decked). DC Prevails 3-1 over the team that has no spunk whatsoever, San Jose.

Double Trouble. I was going to join the masses with the 3-1 Fire win. But this is a prediction league, and Vivzig isn't getting any closer. So...

Say what you want, but the Metroscum against a bunch of nobodies is a metroscum win. Aside from Petke, Mastroeni (who is with the Gold Cuop squad) and Cunningham, who the hell plays in Colorado anyway?

What is up with Nicol's Assistant and that hair? It possibly infuriates me even more than Clint dempsey's home run swing earlier in the season. I mean, this isn't Swindon Town. Well, maybe New England is, I don't know. Then there's the fishless Full of Crap Dallas team, playing the rookies. But they picked up Abe Thompson who not only is going to start again, but will score again. Nicol scratches the beard wondering if he can survive without Pat Noonan. right.

Nicol and the Hair Apparent (NE) 1 Was this team THAT bad last year?(DAL) 1

I think the last time KC had a match after a beautiful boring defensive struggle with DC, they went for 4 goals. Well, who am I to buck such trends? I mean, they're playing Jason "I'm too old for the back-flips" Kreis and the rest of the expansion Clampetts. Enough.

Davy Jones? No, Davy Arnaud! (KC) 4. We all wanted the baseball team and all we got was this crzay soccer team instead (RSL) 1

Antonio Cue is 0-2 in his bets this year. But moral victories are better than none. I think they should change their jerseys to horziontal green stripes for this match and give everyone Scottish surnames on the back of the shirts. That'll teach those LA poseurs how to fight a derby.
