You know what's really funny about basic math?

2/22/2012...New England vs. Los Angeles/Real Salt Lake vs. New York...5,547
2/24/2012...Real Salt Lake vs. Los Angeles/New England vs. New York...8,472
2/29/2012...Real Salt Lake vs. New England/Los Angeles vs. New York...6,212

You only need to draw 9,769 Saturday to break 30k for the four dates.

11k+ because they (as in Pima County) think spring training baseball can draw 10k. So if we can outdraw that, it would Tucson an excellent chance at keeping the MLS Desert Cup.

Spring training baseball in Tucson didn't get 10k (combined, they did, obviously), but their recent averages:

    2010 - Dbacks 6,647 | Rockies 5,243
    2009 - Dbacks 6,738 | Rockies 4,722
    2008 - Dbacks 7,393 | Rockies 5,182 | White Sox 5,820
    2007 - Dbacks 6,735 | Rockies 3,824 | White Sox 5,760
    2007 - 2010 Tucson average: 5,816
    2007 - 2010 Tucson total: 884,048

Obviously, a four-date soccer tournament isn't going to get those types of numbers, but there's obviously an impact, and if it can grow over time to be a destination (soccer fans aren't going to travel for a week to spring training in the same numbers baseball fans will, and you can't play every day like baseball teams do), they can do well with it.

10,172 tonight in Tucson. Excellent crowd.

30,403 for the tournament (7,601 average).

Press conference to announce team #20 in the morning. Also, both Dallas and Chivas USA will be moving to Tucson.

Chivas is moving to the Coliseum, & FC Dallas is just odd. The video broadcasts between the Desert Cup & the Disney Fairy Tale showcased where MLS is putting there money for a 20th team.

You know...MLS doesn't put their money into a 20th team...the 20th team puts its money into MLS.

Tucson, Arizona isn't getting an MLS team based on the Desert Diamond Cup. Because you're missing...oh, let's see...an owner, a stadium, and several hundred thousand more residents in the metro, at least.

See, this is why Landon wouldn't go out with you. You're on crack.

I feel like it was more for selling one of his signed jerseys for $110 than being on crack.

Proving there is balance in nature.

Bad form to sell a jersey someone signed for you. If you bought it signed, that's one thing. If you got it signed and then sold it, that's crap. Unless you donated the money to charity. Or paid for dialysis or something.
