My favorite part is the pronunciation guide for each time - is this for Ty? The guide also provides material for a new drinking game - every time a TV guy mentions a fact verbatim from the media guide
You can also add it as a shortcut on your desktop. Seems like a great gesture by the league for its hardcore fans. Sometimes you just gotta throw the hardcore a bone. Have other pro sports leagues provided their playoff media guides for free? And check out the great evil glare photo of Bradley on pg 9 - contrast with the way too cheery photo of Sigi on p11.
I loved the slick presentation of the guide. Does anyone know if MLS has done this before for the playoffs (had a guide online for downloading)?
MLS has never done this before. My hope is that they will expand this to the full media guide next year and have it available to download at the beginning of the season. Andy
I printed it out and spent $180 duplicating and binding it for my daughter's club coaches and her team. Everybody seems to be enjoying it. Guess that makes me a fanatic, too.
That makes you a magnanimous lunatic. Finally, someone who spends more money on MLS for others than me. I feel sane again.
Great guide. Very informative and insightful. Of course, as always with MLS, there has to be some sort of a screw-up. If you notice, after page 5, immediately comes page 9
Pages 6-8 contained all of MLS's rules for allocations/discoveries/weighted lotteries, etc., a synopsis of the league's strategy in the players' lawsuit, as well as a financial summary of the first 7 years of the league. Apparently they removed these pages soon after posting the media guide. I'm glad I was able to see them before they were removed, as they were interesting to read.
I got a similar hard copy of the Media only playoff guide during last year's playoffs and it was very well done, very informative. Its nice to see it expanded to a broader platform.
No - Copyright Laws. It's a .pdf file, just download it. Adobe .pdf viewers are free for pretty much any operating system you can think of.
If you read the previous posts, you'll see that the reason I'm asking for it to be posted is b/c pages 6-8 have been removed from the guide that's currently on the web (I do have Adobe Reader). Your copyright comment is valid, though.
Andy, the reason why people are asking for a summary is that the rules on allocations are no longer present. I'm hoping someone who has these pages (the allocation pages) can summarize them for us, or better yet, e-mail them. Thanks.
1) If you noticed, Noah ended his post with 2) The index for the guide mentions the pages are contact numbers, etc... 3) pages 6-8 were intentionally left out of the "public" version of the "media" guide. 4) Anyone caught posting the "missing" pages would likely find themselves in hot water with MLS. Most of the info is available, just not in quite a concise manner.
That depends, what's her rack like???? 5,4,3,2.......counting down till JMU goes all hizzy on this thread and determines its not Analysis anymore.
According to the table of contents those pages contained contact info and things like visiting teams hotels. So I can see why they wouldn't want that information to become public.
