This SI article answers both your questions.

There is a very, very good chance my employment will transfer me this summer to live in PHX. My work would be right near ASU which is in the same area as the stadium. I'm not sure I can overstate how excited I would be to finally live in an MLS city after being a fan of the league all these years.

I find it ironic that - if the plan goes through - they plan to move me in June or July. I mean, if I'm going to get an introduction to living in Phoenix, might as well jump into the deep end weather-wise, right? Tulsa can get pretty hot; I'm just hoping that what they say about the "dry heat" being preferable is really true.

One of the top priorities once I get there is to get to a game.

    Oh, shoot.

Well it will make you appreciate next winter that much more.

This lease deal is for Phoenix Rising to move their current modular stadium from Wild Horse Pass to allow for on-site sports betting. It doesn't appear to have nothing to do with anything pertaining to MLS expansion.

I couldn't open the link but will Phoenix Stadium be open air?

If so, that would be kind of brutal in the summer month's....

Yeah, I'm not feeling playing outdoors in Maricopa County.

They actually DID play last week, and they have pushed back kickoff times for the next few matches to 8 p.m. Doesn't help a lot, but once the sun is down at least you can hydrate and not feel like you are going to spontaneously combust.

But it's silly to go to a regular season match in the middle of a record streak of 110+ degree days.
