I've heard the teammates have always liked him, but, over a long career in MLS, he's never really been able to settle in with a team for more than a few seasons.

Seems like no matter what the Rev's are doing to improve and prepare for 2023, in the East it's going to be Philly that we eventually have to deal with and somehow eclipse. What say you all?

Philly has done a fantastic job with their Academy and continue to bring in USMNT level players it seems like every year. And they do this without spending money. They're the team to beat IMHO.

It was only a few years ago that they seemed own us. We've totally gotten over that mental block.

RBNY looking to add 24-year-old Belgian international Dante Vanzeir as a DP. Currently playing at Union Saint-Gilloise, they might wind up having to pay over $6.25M for the striker, which would be a club record spent on a transfer.

A bit of a tangent, but USG have come a long way! Back in the day, they were strictly a neighborhood-based team (I lived in St. Gilles) and were scraping by in the 3rd division. One whole side of the stadium (built in 19 oh-something) was closed, condemned because it was unsafe and the rest of the park was severely run down. Never more than a few hundred fans in attendance.

New owners came in, poured a lot of money into the club, bought some new (good) players, built a new stand, fixed up the rest of the park, got promoted twice and came within 3 points of winning the whole enchilada last year. Since the place only holds maybe 20,000 and is not up to UEFA standards, they are looking to build a new stadium elsewhere in Brussels, looking at 3 different sites. Of course, "elsewhere" means the furthest away site is less than 2 miles from the current home.

Inter Miami have signed Ukrainian international defender Sergii Kryvtsov from Ukrainian side FC Shakhtar Donetsk to a contract through the 2024 season, with an option for the 2025 campaign.

It should be noted that USG is actually a historically successful club and the most successful club from Brussels until Anderlecht overtook them in the mid 1960s in terms of most titles won. But even though they haven't won the title in the top flight since 1935, they still have the third most titles ever with 11 (behind Anderlecht and Club Brugge but ahead of the likes of Standard and Genk).
But pre-war, they were essentially what Anderlecht became in the 1950s and 1960s.
They just disappeared out of the top tier in the early 1970s, and did not return until last season.

Yes they were, they were the biggest club in Belgium going way back. Nice to see them at the top (again). For me, it was USG and Anderlecht, since I never thought they'd be in the same realm. I also occasionally went to Matchens to see RWDM.

R.W.D.M. might get promoted back to the top tier. In which case it would be the first time I can remember that there are three teams from Brussels in the top tier.

Wow, it looks like the main stand hasn't changed at all in almost 90 years!

Rough news for 17-year old FCD homegrown (just signed in November) Tarik Scott, as he suffered a ACL/MCL tear and is out for the season.

Maybe. It will be a major challenge to integrate him into the lineup in one week.

I was lucky enough to catch a few games in Charlerio when I lived in Hastiere. I also caught a few lower level games in Namur and Dinant. I even played in a few games with a team in Hastiere. Loved my time there. My daughter was born in Mons

    Playoff schedule looks like this:

    PLAYOFFS
    WED 10/25 8 vs 9
    THU 10/26 8 vs 9
    SAT 10/28 Game 1
    SAT 11/4 Game 2
SAT 11/11 Game 3 (if needed)
    SAT 11/18 FIFA Break
    SAT 11/25 Conf Semis
    SAT 12/2 Conf Finals
    SAT 12/9 MLS Cup

So a team good enough to sweep the best-of-3 could be sitting for 20 days before the Conference Semi-finals. We know how that goes...
