Not the least bit shocking to anyone who's been paying attention. Messi to Miami seems like a done deal.

Wilfriend Nancy to take over the Columbus HC job (something we had speculated about a while back).

Not the only loss for Montreal, as they've also sold Canadian internationals Alistair Johnson and Ismaël Koné (to Celtic and Watford respectively), along with US international Djordje Mihailovic to AZ Alkmaar.

I know he didn't play much but a first for MLS, as Atlanta United's Thiago Almada becomes the first active MLS player to win a World Cup.

MLS looking to change the playoff structure. One of the potential formats is close to what Tom Hill used to suggest on these boards a while back. 8 teams from each conference, 2 groups of four and then a World Cup type group stage (top 2 seeds in each group host 2 games, and the bottom two host just one). If you have the Athletic, check out the story.

More on the possible playoff format change, but from ESPN (no subscription needed).

I like the idea - and bringing it on the season after the WC Finals makes sense in that casual fans have recently been exposed to a similar format.

I don't think it gives the higher seeds enough of an advantage. I'd have the group leader have all 3 group games at home, the #2 seed plays the #3 and #4 seeds at home and the #3 seed plays the #4 at home.

A briefer way to put it, the higher seed always plays at home.

This. And probably true with Nashville/Romney.

Kei is looking for his 10th MLS tour of duty. Not sure what his beef is, as MON picked up his 2023 contract option.

Kei had 9 goals last year, which is more than any Revs player had.

Chicago Fire sell another player, and are stockpiling some money prior to the 2023 season.
