Little segment yesterday morning, saying how MLS has come on leaps and bounds, and commented on how several of the Nats from the summer came from MLS blah blah blah Showed a couple of good free-kicks, including Hristo's earlier this season, and one against the Mutiny (?). The whole reason for this was Gilles Grimandi being linked with the Rapids, and the rumour of Gascoigne heading out to DC again in the new season. They also showed Wade's goal against Spurs. Anyone else see it? Digital Channel 408, I believe you can get it in the US too, for a few hours a day on some obscure channel or something. ChinChin
Grimandi is a decent French player. He is 32 and played for Arsenal during its two recent championship seasons. He was signed from Monaco in 1997 by Arsene Wenger and did well in his first few seasons. But with the addition of a talented midfield squad he was left out in the cold this summer. A move to Japan fell through and he is still looking for a club. He was last seen training with a second division French club. Don't be surprised about the MLS stories in the UK. The league has been getting a decent rep here especially after the World Cup. In fact when Gazza was about to sign for DC United it was the top sports story on ITV News (Channel 3).
