Nice article. I don't know why they all talk about other sports dwindling (ie the poor ratings for the World Series) and soccers ratings going up yet ESPN or Fox won't take a leap of faith and put a few games on primetime and just see what happens. If they would promote it the ratings would improve even more. Whatever though, I'm sure this has been discussed hundreds of times. One thing Fox got wrong though, the caption under the picture of the Revolution's Brown says he couldn't keep the winning shot from going in. If they are referring to that actual picture, he is making a save there. The winning goal that he couldn't stop went by just past his feet.
Maybe because the MLS Cup got a 0.8 rating while a poorly rated World Series will finish over 10.0 What I'd like to see are the MLS ratings for 18-34. Baseball is in deep, deep doo doo with these folks. One WS game got only 4.1 in this group. Obviously, that bodes ill for the future. I imagine the numbers are reversed for soccer. Things will only get better.
A few years back, MLS' timeslot was Thursday night. I've got to assume it's not there anymore for a reason.
Yeh, because it was a few years ago and the league was two years old. However according to the above article soccer's ratings are rising. Hence the reason to take a chance and promote the league.
