Quakes II are in a rut where they dominate play and chances and can't put anything away. That game should have been 3-0 Quakes II. Very frustrating to watch. It happens from time to time, but that's 2 games in a row like that. Oh well, it's a development league. Better for them to play pretty well on balance but lose than it is for them to play like crap and win.

It's not really playing "pretty well on balance" if none of the shots go in. So frustrating.

Well, I look at chances created. There are times when you create a lot of chances and the ball doesn't find the net. I like that a lot better than not creating any chances and not finding the net. The finishing stuff, and getting the bounces, it tends to come and go.

BTW I was reminded on the broadcast that Alex Covelo is now Monterey FC coach. So that might help explain Quakes 2 suddenly playing in Monterey. I'm hopeful that we'll set up a partnership with them, and Monterey Bay will be a sort of intermediate stepping stone for some players who've kind of outgrown Next/Pro but not ready for 1st team minutes.

That makes sense re Alex and the availability of the field (I thought the announcer was saying that he was involved with the II team, so thanks for clarifying). It's not a short trip from their training field to the Monterey campus, and it's unfortunate when your home field isn't really your home field.
