Did the national teams of El Salvador and China use players from their pools or were these the real teams? If they were the real deal then the Metros and D.C United's first and second teams should be called up by Arena!!!!!!!!! It seemed everyone played in both games and we won both of them.. Did we pay these countries to come over here???

You should remain open to the possibility that both El Salvador and China just plain suck.

    China was a B-team.

    But their A-team isn't exactly world-beating either.

    Actually....

Actually you are incorrect, that was not a B team that China sent, not sure on the El Salvador team though....

The team that china sent included 8 players that played in last years world cup and two up and coming future starting hopefuls.....

Although just to add - the China team is probably experiencing difficulty as they are just getting used to a new coach....

LA didn't use any starters until the second half against China...still didn't manage to keep the few who did show for the match awake. If that's China's B team, I'd send the US Woman to face them next time.

    Re: Actually....

8 players from the World Cup squad doesn't constitute an A-team. Especially since China used 19 players in the World Cup.

Here's why... would this have been a top US lineup at any time?

    Friedel

    Agoos
    Berhalter
    Llamosa
    Hejduk

    Mastroeni
    Lewis
    Sanneh
    Jones

    Moore
    Wolff

All 11 of them played in the World Cup!

2 years ago, sure! Right now?!? no way... 5 of those 11 which you mentioned would not even be called up if the U.S. were to face a Chinese club team TODAY due to them not even being in the national team pool anymore. Doesn't make much sense to make that comparison.

A lot of US fans would have covered their eyes after seeing that on the teamsheet in 2001...
