I think the ref did right by not handing out too many cards, and none of them red. I think it went wild when the Paraguayan captain put Robinson in a headlock.

Florida-Tampa again right now, $200,000 in fines from their last preseason matchup.

    Thx,

    Jay!

Iraq beat UAE in Basra today, 2-1. The winning goal came from the spot following a hand ball in the box by a UAE player. It happened in the 17th minute of stoppage time. The hand ball occurred in the 100th minute (final minute of stoppage time). It took VAR and the lead official 7 minutes to conclude a PK should be awarded. UAE is eliminated. Iraq advances to the Intercontinental Playoff in March in Mexico.

In CONCACAF qualifying for the World Cup:

    Panama lead El Salvador 1-0
    Haiti lead Nicaragua 1-0
    T & T lead Bermuda 1-0
The other 3 matches are nil-nil.

As of now, Panama and Haiti are in the World Cup. Curacao are in too. Jamaica and Suriname would be the playoff teams.

Guatemala takes a 1-0 lead against Suriname...Suriname would still be in the playoff with a better goal differential than Honduras.

Guatemala up 2-0 on Suriname. Suriname are still in playoff position, but just barely ahead of Honduras on goals scored.

Right now Honduras is eliminated completely but one goal will put them in first place ahead of Haiti on goal differential. A goal for Costa Rica would put CR into the playoff spot on goals scored over Suriname.

Jamaica have hit an upright and the crossbar in the second half. Still nil-nil against Curacao in Kingston. 72nd minute. A Curacao goal occurred, but it was waived off for offiside!

Depending on where their heads are at, Suriname could get back into playoffs with a goal.

3 years ago if you had told me that Panama would be the only Central American qualifier for the World Cup with 5 spots up for grabs I would have thought you were crazy.

Beat me to it, a near-shutout for Central America.

And El Salvador's rebuilding decade-plus continues ... only Bermuda did worse in this round.
