Haji Wright ate that guy alive. What a move. Weird that none of the other defenders closed the space - Luna was the next closest American but was a good ten yards away.
Panama stays even with Suriname with a 96th minute goal, tying 1-1 and keeping pace with 6 points from four games.

You'll still have players that haven't played for 6 weeks but it won't interfere with pre-season, especially important for teams in the CCC.
El Salvador's World Cup run for 2026 is over. Suriname posts a resounding 4-0 win in Paramaribo to take sole possession of first place in Group A in the last phase of CONCACAF qualifying with one more match to go (November 18th). Panama play at Guatemala later tonight. The Canaleros need a win to match Suriname on points at the top of the standings. The big win for Suri though, should have them on top with a +5 goal difference (Panama are at +1 currently). Guatemala need a draw or a win to stay in contention. A loss will eliminate them.
Group B's topsy turvy standings going into Round 5 had Jamaica on top of Curacao, 9-8, with Trinidad & Tobago sitting on 5 points. Curacao crushed Bermuda, 7-0, and T & T scored late to draw Jamaica, 1-1. This leaves the Blue Wave on top now with 11 points. Reggae Boys are on 10 points. The Soca Warriors are eliminated with the draw. Curacao play Jamaica in Kingston Tuesday, needing only a draw to make it to the World Cup. Jamaica can go directly with a win. The second place team will hope to have enough points to qualify for the Intercontinental Playoff in March.
Nicaragua goes up 2-0 against Honduras in the 82nd minute and Haiti leads Costa Rica 1-0...If these results hold up everyone but Nicaragua would still be in contention on the final day.
Guatemala 2-3 Panama Haiti 1-0 Costa Rica Nicaragua 2-0 Honduras They took away our hex and our oct but we're still going to have a wild final round...the "best two second-place teams advance to the playoffs" is dumb but it adds another layer of drama.
Final 3 matches for Round 5 are done. What a night! In Group A, Panama squanders a 2-nil lead and sees Guatemala tie the match at 2 in the 69th minute. In the 78th, the Canaleros take the lead for good and hang on for a 3-2 win. Guatemala are eliminated. Panama are tied on points with Suriname, but trail on goal difference (+5 to +2). In Group C, Honduras put themselves behind the 8-ball, as Nicaragua records a stunning, 2-0 win. Meanwhile, in Willemstad, Haiti hang on for a 1-0 win over Costa Rica. This leaves Honduras and Haiti tied on 8 points, but the Catrachos are ahead of Haiti on goal difference (+3 to +1). Costa Rica are in third place on 6 points. Nicaragua are eliminated. Final matchday, Round 6 on Tuesday, November 18 All games begin at 8 EST. Group A--Suriname at Guatemala, El Salvador at Panama Group B--Curacao at Jamaica, Bermuda at Trinidad & Tobago Group C--Honduras at Costa Rica, Nicaragua at Haiti (in Curacao)
That the trio of group winners could very well be Curacao, Haiti, and Suriname would have been a heck of a risky bet. I am rooting for it.
Pretty competitive but chill game explodes in stoppage. No idea how we went to fisticuffs that fast. Definitely a swing or two.
