This is like that 5-0 game from 2009. Stu Holden was in that game and might be able to give us some insight.
I know this version of the USMNT for the Gold Cup isn't the 'A' Group of players, but frankly, I can't picture the 'A' team players doing much better in the first half than this group has done. We've got 10 months to get this right...can it be done? Will it be so?
Tyler Adams with the giveaway at midfield that leads to sustained Mexican pressure. A pressure not seen since the explosive diarrhea I suffered this spring in Cancun.
I'm late, because I was catching up after watching the end of SEA/CLB... I have no idea how Mexico's goal went in. Tim Ream was right on top of the shooter -- I'm stunned that didn't get blocked. That had to be millimeter perfect, and it was.
The replay from the one angle that matters, I'm not convinced that was onside OR offside. That's an awfully quick trigger for an overrule.
Luna trying to do too much. But it’s not enough. Adam’s off, he’s been poor, too. Probably needed the Pulisic rest to be fair.
I vote to keep the non-oral VAR explanation in all soccer. Hand signals so much more dramatic and universal than words.
USA look so haphazard with the ball. I know there's a sense of urgency at this stage of the match, but gosh...they really looked sloppy due to fatigue, or playing in a frenzy...I don't know, but it doesn't look like anything that inspires confidence in me that the team knows what it's doing when it has the ball in the opponent's half of the field.
Tillman had his worst game of the Gold Cup tonight. The rest of the team was a step slow in the final third. Credit to Mexico for finding a way to get the W.
Handball. Not a ball hitting a plant hand. 😳😳😳 pic.twitter.com/8vQc4fUe6J— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) July 7, 2025
I gave up when the team couldn't get their shit together last year. We knew what the windows would look like and likelihood of full teams getting good competition or building cohesion were not going to happen after that.
