Zim and M Rob have not played well today but you're going to be under a lot of pressure when you can't get the ball out of your own half.

The seems to be a habit across US teams of getting the chance to break then putting your foot on the ball and passing backwards.

Anyway they need sort out this handball rule. 0-4.

That nearly makes up for the women not having a disappointing result on Wednesday.

 

That was a fun second goal from France. 2-0 with Argentina only having ten minutes or so to right things.

EDIT: goal called off in a truly epic announcement from an angry sounding referee.

A lovely goal to win a pretty dull match.

 

I can’t remember if there was a single unblocked SOG by either team in the 2nd half.

 

Funny, everybody is saying it was a great goal. I thought it was a good goal. I agree the match was mostly a slog.

So is France going out good news for the USMNT coaching search or bad news for the USMNT coaching search, with Herve Renard is essentially free of other obligations but also lost in the QFs in a homestanding tournament?

 

He did lose to a Canada team without a coach at a home tournament ... so probably at the top of the list.
