As usual, NBC will be showing the early stages of events, cutting to interviews with American competitors who always dreamed of being in The Olympics despite [insert personal challenges] between commercial breaks, then showing a few highlights of Americans doing things, before catching the end of the original event when the interesting part is over with. "Oh look Sabado Dimbele who was at the back of the pack when we left is now 50 yards ahead!".
Still trying to figure out how the US women only had three minutes of injury time in the first half when the VAR/red card stoppage was four minutes by itself. In 2024 it's your own fault for watching the linear TV olympics coverage.
And it just gets worse for Canadian soccer... Seventeen players on Canada’s men’s national soccer team attended a briefing on Aug. 31, 2021 and watched as head coach John Herdman played a video that showed the Honduran national team’s closed practice a day earlier, a source told TSN.MORE from @rwesthead:… pic.twitter.com/PkAD4FZBeW— TSN (@TSN_Sports) July 26, 2024 First I thought that Canada's Men and Women's teams wouldn't get any punishment but now, I could see very severe sanctions. Also, further great reporting by Rick Westhead. He has broken so many hockey scandals over the years, his word is pretty much gospel as to what he reports.
Apparently Marsch was offered the chance to get drone footage for Copa but dismissed it. The only person with integrity in Canadian soccer is American. Go figure... Sources tell @TSN_Sports early during Canada's Copa América group stage, Jesse Marsch was approached with the idea of using drone footage. I've been told Marsch was "dismissive" and said spying on opponents "wasn't part of his coaching philosophy." @TSN_Sports @TSNSoccer— Matthew Scianitti (@TSNScianitti) July 26, 2024
That's a big up for Jesse Marsch. Mad props. I mean it normally would just be the norm, but reversing the established protocol of the CNT is a big deal.
