Yeah. I think you should be worried that you think like a concussed-up sportscaster who blows hot wind loudly for a living.
US U-20s starting the CONCACAF tournament vs. Jamaica, David Vazquez of Philly Union scored twice in the first three minutes. Now 3-0, Vazquez with an assist on a corner kick.
Did Tim Howard's partner (Joe Speight) just say it's beyond Lionel Messi to play in two tournaments this summer? If it wasn't for the injury he'd be playing in Copa and Leagues Cup. DEAL! Thx, Jay!
Technically neither do Leagues Cup teams. The lower-seeded MLS team in each group is technically the away team in their game against the Liga MX side, even though its being hosted in their stadium.
Evidently the tying goal and a suspended match and an 15 minute long VAR review to disallow the goal then three minutes being played an hour after the players were off the pitch. IOC wanted remaining minutes to be playedNeither team wanted to play it. MORE time was going to be added. https://t.co/VOo7KFpwgw— Juan Arango (@JuanG_Arango) July 24, 2024 ALSO... goal was disallowed an hour, 15 minutes later pic.twitter.com/5QFdaLuWLa— Juan Arango (@JuanG_Arango) July 24, 2024 NOW it's a final. I look forward to hearing CONMEBOL complain that if the Olympics had been held in a serious footballing nation, there wouldn’t have been disruptive fan misbehavior during an Argentina match.
Disappointing result for France. US hit the bar twice before France scored. Yow had a decent goal called offside. It was a physical game.
As a bad American I went to the Guinea-New Zealand match. A few Olympique soccer observations: --The stadium in Nice is one of those wonderfully accessible European stadiums, conveniently located on the outskirts of the city next to an IKEA, 35 minutes from the city center by tram. --Our tram struck a vehicle, and while there didn't appear to be any injuries, that was it for the tram (and my pregame housewares shopping), so it became 75 minutes by tram and two buses. --With the stadium sparsely populated it was effectively sit where you want (or stand in the covered open concourse). The enthusiastic group of Guinea supporters in the upper level during the first half was behind the goal in the second half. --John Herdman took a seat near the bottom of one of the center sections for the second half when his son was playing on that side. I should have gone down and asked about the drone program. --We can beat both of these teams. --At the end of the game there were people at the bottom of the stadium steps handing out copies of a sports-themed religious book. No secure perimeters here!
Is this where I complain about the MLS All-Stars losing to Liga MX in the Skills Challenge last night or that the ref for the All-Star Game is garbage and it's currently tied 1-1?
Now the ref is taking his time on the on-field review. Now there is no handling or penalty because who can keep up with the rules?
