Watch the highlights. 4 turnovers and multiple horrible marking jobs. Not the the US created anything but it's one game.

I'm expecting a stonking in the second half.

I think the announcers explained it as VAR originally was looking to see if it was a red, but realized it wasn't a foul at all, so because they were reviewing for a red they could rescind the yellow.

I don't know what the rules are for that, to be honest.

Once a review is initiated for any of the four reasons, anything can be discovered. So it was a bad review to send down because the VAR should have seen it wasn’t a foul. But instead he must have thought it could have been a red.

1-1 final score. Cue insufferable USMNT Twitter "fans" harping on Berhalter's lack of a "signature win."

Allison and Turner made some nice stops in the second half to keep this game 1-1.

Story is the same as it always is with the USMNT: they lack an out and out goalscorer. Other than Pulisic who's scoring goals for this team reliably?

Unfortunately, no one that I can think of. Team does well against CONCACAF sides, but against top-level teams, USA struggles. I though Tim Weah could be that complementary goal scorer to Pulisic, but he's as inconsistent as anyone else on the team.

Much better and cohesive effort. The competition doesn't matter if the team looks like it knows how to play. That said - no real striker. Brazil is good but they aren't better than Colombia so the result is fine. We had chances we bottled and so did they, the GKs made goal stopping saves.

Let's see what the actual tourney has in store.

As expected, some people can't even enjoy a good result. We already have some of the "Berhalter out!" crowd claiming that Brazil played none of their starters against us except Alisson.

(They did make 10 lineup changes from the Mexico game, but looking at recent WCQ lineups, it was mostly starters against us and mostly second-string players against Mexico.)

Supporting the team means being honest. This was honestly a good result. It was good play as well.

Messi was gifted his first goal when Guatemala tried to play it out of the back and the keeper literally hit him with his pass while Messi was inside the penalty spot.

If anyone is looking for some late-night international action the OFC Nation's Cup kicks off in 90 minutes on FIFA+. Opening match is Solomon Islands vs. Vanuatu.
