Thornton, Segares, Curtin, Brown, Pause, Marsch, Buete, Mapp, Guerrero, Reiter, Herron

I didn't know Guerrero was still here. That's good. Announcers say Fransisco Gomez will play sweeper for Chivas.

Fire put one in early, but Herron was a mile offside.

Curtin cripples Matt Taylor with a mistimed tackle.

Is the mullet legitimately in style in Mexico?

Guerrero gets take down and then upon hitting the turf and grabbing his leg in pain he opens one eye just a bit to see what the ref is doing. Camera got a great shot of it. :D

I hope not. It is very in style in Spain, but I was hoping that the threat had been contained to the peninsula. Mexico would then be the logical next country to suffer.

Chivas looking pretty decent. Of course, they usually do for a while, and then fade.

Fire getting the best of the calls so far.

Ok, I want to know who this new goalie is and why he swallowed Zach Thornton!!!

Seriously, I think the breakaway shot was poorly placed (but it was a bad angle...), but Ezra's header should have been a goal in my eyes. Wonder if he can keep it up!

Chivas moving the ball much better than the Fire, especially in the midfield.

Wow, terrible no call on Martins' shove in the box. Luckily the shot is way over.

How does Herron not get carded for that?

He would have to be the world's biggest goalie to swallow Zach Thornton. But, yes, he's back in form. I think he's not as nervous since they're playing Chivas. He comes through big in little games. It's the big games you have to worry a little bit.

Thank God Chivas can't shoot that well.

It's really pathetic how bad they've been.

While we know that Rolfe [and Jaqua for that matter] works really up hard up top, it is so much more evident with their absence that Reiter and Herron don't have the same style.

After watching the Crew match today, Chivas actually looks like Real Madrid. At least Chivas is trying.

Columbus isn't a real soccer team though. Apples and oranges, you know.

Two offside calls on Chivas so far that have been very, very suspect.

That last one did legitimately appear offside, if just.

    0-0 HT

That one wasn't, c'mon. Close, maybe, but correct. And what was the other one?

HT: 0-0. Nobody looking really good. We're missing the direct play of Thiago and Rolfe, and the target of Jaqua. Mostly because we're used to having them. Herron still a step off, and Reiter still unfamiliar with everyone. Ugly stuff.

Good point. The Ohio State men's team would be a more legitimate professional team.
