Well, we almost blew a 4-1 lead again, but managed to hold out 4-3. Kamara on the first CrewSC hat trick in over a decade--with goal #3 assisted by Higuain. Savara playing out of place, no problem. Terrible PK? Clark's got it saved. Exciting match despite the delay--good result.

so much irony in Ola Kamara getting a hat trick in his FIRST scoring game (first hat trick for the franchise in 12 years if I'm not mistaken), when arguably Kei Kamara's lack of a hat trick/ PK controversy was the cause of his trade to NER.

Meram was massive. Higuain looked sharp the whole game.

I still want to se more Mabwati in as a power sub.

Not sure if you knew he was away on international call-up or not...

More importantly, Higuain was more emotionally invested in the game than I've ever seen him.

Bye bye Kei. We have another Kamara leading the line and he scores hat tricks.

Loved seeing Waylon subbed in and within a minute he's created a goal. You could see how much it meant with everyone going to celebrate with him, too.

And could have had five or six, honestly.

I know that getting too excited about tonight's game, or reading too much into it, would be somewhat naiive. But this team really needed a win, and got one against a quality side, and with some key players missing. I'll take it gladly, and maintain some optimism for the coming weeks.

The PK call was weak, but nicely saved. The no-call for the foul on J9 was also weak, but it's worth remembering that he has earned a reputation for diving.

I have nothing bad to say about the performance of any Crew player tonight. That, in and of itself, is remarkable.

His cross was pin-point perfect. Just incredible.

Also, thought it was interesting that Morales, Burrito and Movsisyan all started from the bench. Bar Plata, that is their entire attack right there. I don't know what their fitness situations were coming in, but if they were good to go that is quite the bold statement from Cassar. Glad it backfired.

I've never been a massive anti-Parkhurst guy, but I'm think I'm getting there now. Could have done better on both goal #2 and #3.

I don't blame the defense or Parkhurst fully for those goals. The team was told to let off the gas and that's what they did. Defense looked good until the change in tactics. I know the coaching book says to bunker in that situation but we might need to rethink until the guys heads are right.

That header off the cross really illustrated how badly we need some height in that box. Wahl and Saravia?

I can agree with that. Personally I like having a big center back that can enforce the box and get to balls that the vertically challenged can't.

Saravia was really good at intercepting passes with his feet, but he and Parkhurst just can't make up for the lack of height.

At the end of the day just glad they pulled out the W. It was fun to watch glimpses of the team we saw last year.

I thought I misheard that on the broadcast. Seriously? No one on the Crew had scored a hat trick since 2004? Over 400 games played with no one scoring three?

I'm just against Parkhurst starting and being Captian
He would be a great back up and same with Wahl.

At their age they have no more potential and they are just not up to standards for a quality starter at CB in the MLS

Three goals from Ola was just what we needed, and great for his confidence after stepping in a difficult situation.

Overall the team played well considering the lineup options we had due to injuries and national team call-ups. I was concerned when I realized Saravia was starting in the back, he ended up having a good match.

The pk save from Clark was huge.

The cross from Francis to Ola was perfect. Bringing Francis in, and the resulting assist, made GB look like a genius. The bunkering with a three goal lead did not work out, our defenders were gassed. We held on for a crucial 3 points. A loss would have put us at the bottom of the Eastern Conf., with Ch*cago.

Yeah, we should never bunker ever again. It never, ever, works for us.

    We kept the right Kamara.

I have thoughts but it's too early to think so let's take the three and head to Philee

Was I inebriated, or did I see Barson come on at the end for Pipa - and actually play up top???

Kyle, you are right on. Crew does not know how to bunker. Didn't we already learn that vs Montreal?

Has we tied or lost I would be complaining about our finishing. We really should have had a couple more goals. Lots of wasted chances.

Props to Ashe for getting involved in the attack.
