Major League Soccer doesnt have all the numbers in yet.. but i got the others off of a la and chicago newspaper. New England 22,108. Los Angeles 25,341. Kansas City 16,816 DC United 14,116 (although i swear they had more). New York 17,156 and Chicago with the 50,000+plus doubleheader.
********.. i got a game from last year.. i was checking newspaper articles.. my bad. damn though.. we are really taking a team out of KC? 16,000 plus this week really just 8,000? for NY tho.. looked like their was alot more ppl their. and same with DC.. looked like their was more than 14,000. and i guess for chicago and the crew the attendance was 0.. lol.. and i swear i saw people at that game and my la paper was messed up to.. they were before game sold tickets.. it was another 27,000 sell out.
54,432 in Chicago 22,108 in NE 8,324 at Metros 16,816 in KC 27,000 for Clasico The 16k figure was because of a yearly grocery store promotion called "Break the Record Night." Basically, you buy ANYTHING from the store, you get a free ticket.
who else watched chicago-crew yesterday? I know the 54k was for the Real Madrid game but how many do you think were there for the MLS game? On tv it looked like MAYBE 5k. It was pretty pathetic IMO.
Apparently you never saw the camera pan up? There was a good 25-30K there for the FIRST HALF! There were many in the upper decks and north goal which is rarely open so the crowd was pretty spread out for the Fire match. There are some photos over on the Fire board that show what I mean.
thanks i'll have to check that out. Apparently I didn't see that and I watched most of the game. Did they raise prices so much that the usual Fire fans had to move to the Bob Eucker seats?
Sounds like something Lewis Grizzard used to say about Georgia Tech college football. "Used to be if you bought Big Mac you'd get a dollar off your Tech ticket. This year if you order fries the defensive secondary will come to your home and wax your car for you."
