No, seriously. That's the name of the tournament. But also, it is back. After the 2019 MLS All-Star Game, it seems Orlando has become the center of the MLS world. It's really become the center of the American sports world, with the NBA conducting the entirety of the remainder of its season here as well. This after UFC returned in nearby Jacksonville last month. A five-week tournament will act to warm up the teams and players for an abbreviated regular season, hoping to get everything wrapped up by the end of the year in a format that is still allegedly forthcoming. We all thought ending the season in December was over. But what do we know? The people need team sports more than ever. I'm of the opinion that no team sport unites the people better than soccer. Even with our club-based factionalism, even when the uglier sides of society show themselves, we agree on certain core principles. We agree that all people deserve the same chance to be the very best. We agree that no one should be disadvantaged by ancient, long-outdated biases. Be they by skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religious creed, physical ability, age, or any other quantification or qualification that our species can identify or imagine. The entire sports world will be watching. We will never get a better chance to put our best boot forward and show America, and Earth as a whole, what can actually be. Let's do this. Together.
