I'm glad their hopefully getting it in. It will now overlap with the Hartford Athletic USL game so as a Connecticut person I might be toggling.
I noticed the USL is actually playing real games now. On Sunday they showed Lou-a-ville FC vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and the overall play was a bit better than I expected. How long have they been playing? They were in the stadium with "social distancing," i.e. people wearing masks and spread out. I dunno if we're ready for that yet. Even in countries where they have a much better handle on this, they are playing in empty stadiums...
The Revs have an exciting team to watch and again they don't show them on ESPN. Where's the local coverage when you need it!!
USL-C returned to play Saturday with 6 games, but I believe I heard that Sunday's game in Louisville was the only one cleared for fans to attend.
Hartford plays Monday night, fans are allowed but at 25% capacity. I will be there. Game is on espn2 i think
Only one game on the docket today. VAN (the last team to take the field in MiB) vs SJ (9pm ET on Twitter). VAN missing 3 strikers (Lucas Cavallini, Fredy Montero, Tosaint Ricketts), so are likely to struggle on offense.
Looks like "the bubble" is working... Major League Soccer announces COVID-19 testing update July 14, 2020 10:10PM EDT MLSsoccer staff
Kind of off-topic here, but this is the perfect scenario for the 'group testing' that is being touted to get our testing numbers up. Take everyone's samples, then add a portion of the sample to a team-group and test that. If it's negative, the team is cleared - if positive, either test all the individual samples or iteratively halve the group sample and test each half.
Sounds like Farrell and Zahibo both had minor 'knocks' are are available for selection tomorrow. I think Farrell comes back in, probably for Mancienne, but I'm not sure about Zahibo. I think with the heat, the smaller, quicker players with more endurance seem to be faring better. While Zahibo brings a much more significant physical presence than Caldwell or Rowe, I think their work rates will serve us better in the heat.
