Some details about tourney from ESPN POV: https://www.espn.com/soccer/major-l...at-we-know-about-player-testinggroupsschedule
They are saying 3 games a day and we are in the last group. So that means if the first day is July 8 then our first game would be around July 13-14
So of course we land in the group of death with the goats! With some key guys maybe not even showing up?!! With games in at 6 in the AM!!! Who gets up at that unholy hour anymore? JK lol. I will watch elephants playing soccer at this point, and I have. So now we will see what the team looks like coming out the hole. I foresee mayhem and last place. I hope we at least get out of group play. Go GALAXY!
Damn, so what's our team again? OK, let's dust off these cobwebs: Oh yeah Quick reminder: we're terrible. Just to quickly recap the last match: we failed to produce any real meaningful attack for 60+ minutes against a pretty hapless Vancouver in front of a sellout crowd at home. Then we conceded in the 74th minute and proceeded to literally fall apart, with Corona getting red carded a minute later and Pipo giving up a penalty 10 minutes after that (that Bingham saved to prevent it from being a 0-2 loss). Truly a disaster. Line-up from that match (4-1-4-1): Chicharito Pavon-Kjlestan-Corona-Katai dos Santos Insua-Pipo-DePuy-Feltscher Bingham
Pavon------Chicharito------Lletget -----Dos Santos---Corona Insua----Pipo------DePuy---Araujo ---------------Bingham That would be my starting lineup. Then the subs are Efrain and Klejstan and who the heck knows after that....
Efra should get significant time if not straight starts in some of these matches. Just saying... enough with the babying.

In addition, as part of the tournament production strategy, the telecasts will feature unique and experimental technologies, including virtual commercial displays, new camera positions, advanced audio and fan integration elements. The tournament will also showcase unprecedented access to players and coaches. On top of the new broadcast enhancements for the tournament, MLS is also evaluating a number of technologies that will provide fans the opportunity to express their support and creativity, including interactive elements.
Since we've all been "suspended" for three months, MLS should just wipe the sate clean before the tournament. With so many games ii such a short period of time, DIsCo (or whatever it's called) is going to be pretty busy in Orlando.
I see that among the enhancements are "virtual commercial" displays, which I assume means we get to see commercials during the run of play. Such an "enhancement" I can hardly wait.
I thought they were talking about those next to the goal billboards which look like real billboards on TV, but are TV overlays actually, can't remember if MLS broadcasting used them before?
I looked it up. Any discipline actions from the first 2 games carry over into the Group Stage. So Corona will be suspended for the first game. Basically the group stage is being treated like part of the regular season and anything that occurs in it counts when (if) the regular season continues. Anything from the knockout rounds won't carry over since that won't be even for all teams. So in light of that, my new 11-player lineup for our first game: ---------------Chicharito Pavon----------Efrain--------Lletget -----Dos Santos----Kitchen Insua------Pipo------DePuy---Araujo -----------------Bingham Subs: Klejstan, Feltscher, Steres, Cuello, Zubak My God our bench is thin....
Amazing we have a loss and starter suspended after 2 games. Any chance Schelotto's out be the end of this tourney?
Let me see if I got this. The NBA, MLS, WNBA, etc. all decided that to protect our athletes from coronavirus the best plan was to have them all relocate to Florida, the party-hard state, home of Florida Man and governed by Ron ‘Science-be-Damned’ DeSantis? What could possibly go wrong?
I would have preferred a more central venue with regard to times of matches and climate both politically and climate-wise. More important question is how they will address the empty stands look for telecasts. Will they leave them empty or use the wavy placard approach or the people-camo one which I prefer or simply sell blocks for ads and socio-political statements?
I would run the same thing but with Llegett and Efrain switching spots because the kid is younger and should be faster. He better be in shape or we are screwed. I wouldn't be shocked if we tried to run Sasha for 90 though. This whole tournament will come down to stamina.
They shouldn't if we go out. This season should be a wash when it comes to firing people due to this tournament's results.
