......The stadium was built so it could be set up for football or soccer, and has locker rooms designed with soccer teams in mind.

lol, soccer locker rooms are much different from football locker rooms.

and more on a soccer specific stadium .....Hanauer and his partners are not really interested in becoming MLS owners, unless the plan includes playing in a new soccer-specific stadium, possibly built at the site of the old Midway Landfill. The site was studied in the process to chose a location for a new stadium in the mid-1990s. It is being considered by the Sounders for a $20 million to $25 million indoor/outdoor training complex, and would include a 7,000-seat stadium that could be expandable for MLS crowds.

All you need to do to earn the honor of "most annoying poster" is start a "Cap Ricketts" or "Freddy Adu is 19 Years Old" thread. Seriously, if you're going to be this annoying, at least try to be funny.

On a related note, lots of chatter (but little news) in this thread regarding Seattle expansion.

What he was referring to, is that Seahawks Stadium was built with 4 locker rooms: home & away football locker rooms & home & away soccer locker rooms. The benefit being, the Sounders have their own dedicated locker room & even in the fall when they're sharing the stadium, they don't have to move all their equipment in the day of the game & clear it all out afterwards like a second-class tenant.

"Seattle is among a growing list of interested cities for expansion, including Charlotte, N.C.; Philadelphia; Rochester, N.Y.; Edmond, Okla.; San Diego; Houston; Portland; Sacramento, Calif.; Minneapolis-St. Paul; Winston-Salem, N.C.; New York City; and Atlanta. Highest priority will be given to cities with soccer-specific stadiums, such as those in Colorado and New England. Abbott noted the Galaxy now has its own new facility in Carson, Calif."

Why is San Diego back on that list? They need to make up their mind about us!

    Yawwwwnnn.

I try not to be a violent guy, so I'll leave it at that, except to say that most of the soccer fans I know don't necessarily subsist on hot dogs.

Honestly, I would love to see an MLS team in Seattle. Such a huge soccer community there. So big in fact I am confused as to why they didn't recieve an MLS team in the begining? Can anyone explain?

Do the Sounders play quality soccer? C'mon be honest! Let's have an un-biased answer.

The attendance figure (at least concerning how many butts in seats, whether paid or not) is wrong, there were probably about 6-7K there, according to many eyewitnesses, myself included. There were more people there than the A-League opener against Portland which had an "official" attendance of 5000+.

As for promotion, there were ads in the sports page every day, but they mysteriously changed from "Come see Landon Donovan & co. play the Sounders, etc etc" to "Come see the San Jose Earthquakes play the Sounders etc etc" several days ago. You knew then that Donovan wasn't coming and that kept some people away. Plus it didn't help that the Seattle Post Intelligencer ran a story on game day that said basically that San Jose was only going to play their scrubs, plus Ching, Russell, and Waibel for the hometown/ex-Sounders angle.
