On my end, it's the 23rd thread down from the stickies, ahead of Some Candidate Cities are Just Oversaturated For MLS and behind Please God VA.
Having a stadium in Elk Grove would be one of, if not the worst location to put a stadium in the Sacramento region. The lessons of stadiums built in this league all point to success = downtown, mediocrity/failure = suburbs. FC Dallas put themselves at a huge disadvantage putting their stadium out in the suburbs, away from the urban core, and they're suffering poor attendance because of it. Putting an MLS team in Elk Grove would be no different, if not worse. Terrible, terrible location. But this has been discussed already in the Sacramento thread. Thanks for the link!
Yeah it's like putting a team in Frisco all over again w/o having the legitimate reasons to have done so like Dallas has given that it's the "metroplex".
I used to roll my eyes at the notion that being in Frisco was that big of a detriment, but I was in Dallas for the Fourth, and my buddy lives up there. Drove past the stadium... It's WAY north, and it is pretty far from even central Frisco... That being said, it's nice little oasis of soccer shops and practice fields in that area...
I never heard about this since initially when Elk Grove was proposed last year. It would be nice but I'll believe it when I see it.....

Jeff Rueter @jeffrueter 4h Sacramento's MLS ownership group missed a deadline to submit signed expansion agreement and make a payment on $200 million expansion fee.
Just wondering if Sacramento's expansion club is in jeopardy? If so, would Las Vegas be prepared to step in..
I certainly don't know what's going on behind the scenes at Sac, but one possible reason for missing the MLS checkpoint could be that they were caught up in finalizing their NWSL expansion side, which the NWSL commish just announced in her state of the league address earlier today. If true, IDK what it says about the organization's bandwidth to operate, but it's something.

Looks like the franchise is for the taking from Sacramento. Phoenix or Vegas. Which is a better fit. I vote Phoenix. Since a Sacramento has signed and brought an NWSL franchise, I wonder if this also contributes. Perhaps they will now downsize the stadium 10K or 15K for the NWSL club.
But they maybe over expanded into Vegas with the NHL, NFL and WNBA. There are also rumors of MLB franchise into Vegas.
I don’t think that’s a problem but that’s just my opinion. Phoenix is just as equally likely at this point. money if the desert cities needs to jump , though. The impetus is there
