Maybe the league removed it as part of the new CBA. I do remember that the salary guarantee deadline was one of the sticking points for the players. Another sign that a new CBA may be closer to completion?
Could be. The players want all salaries guaranteed. The league might want to create some other status then, such that if a team cuts or waives a player before a certain date, that they free up that cap space for the rest of the season, even though the player gets paid no matter what.
