Just finished watching the San Jose vs. Kansas City game.

I think it has happened before, but KC used only USNT-eligible players in the game.

Imagine if Jon Conway wasn't injured and had started (instead of Pat Onstad) for San Jose, then every player they would've used would be USNT-eligible.

IIRC on a couple of other occasions, one team has fielded an all "American" line-up in a game before.

Has there ever been an MLS game where both teams did not use any players classified as SI's, TI's, or green card holders?

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp I can't recall an MLS game where both teams started an all American lineup in the same game (although that doesn't necessarily mean that it never happened).

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp However, I do recall that the first MLS team to start an all American lineup was San Jose, in its 1997 home/season opener against the MetroStars.

I was referring and asking about a game - with one or both sides - not using any SI's, TI's, JI's (Junior Internationals a couple of years ago) or Green Card holders.

Basically, USNT eligible players only. Not just the starting line-up either, but subs used too.

Rergarding the DC United game, at the time Llamosa wasn't eligible for the USNT, though he was getting close. It's not like he was going to play for Colombia.

The San Jose game back in 1997 had Ben Iroha - a Nigerian International - as a substitute. The starters were all USNT eligible, however.

I'm also not splitting hairs as to whether they were born in the country.
