Will definitely be interesting to see what the starting lineup looks like on Saturday. An early guess Cabral Quinton, Glad, Engel Gozo, Moisa, Caliskan, Sanabria Hezarkhani, Solans? Guilavogui, We are going to do another watch party at the Break in Murray on Saturday if anyone wants to join us again.
I did not see a guy ready to start in guilavogi. Extremely talented, yes, but he was gassed after a handful of runs. I think you see Solans move to the point with the same wingers - booth and hezerkhani - then the same wing backs: Gozo and Sanabria
I’m going to be on a plane during this game. I probably won’t catch up on the match until midweek. Have fun without me, and update the ref decisions thread!
Yeah, I missed the Seattle game and I'll miss this one, too. Woe is me, I'm stuck on the beach in Mexico.
If anyone is around we will be back at the Break in Murray to watch the game. 4760 S 900 E Should have all of the tv's on the game or all that we need and want
The game preview from the team at https://www.rsl.com/news/storylines-returning-to-atlanta-after-home-opening-win doesn't list anyone coming back from injury.
It’s really hard to not be worried about Luna at this point. It’s March. The World Cup is less than 100 days away. Roster decisions much less than that. @goobx1 did I really screw this up?
Very interesting that they'll be playing on grass indoors. All in prep for the WC. Also doesn't mention any players available due to international status.
Injury Report: OUT: Juan Jose Arias (not due to injury) OUT: Emeka Eneli (knee) OUT: Kobi Henry (hamstring) OUT: Diego Luna (knee) OUT: Victor Olatunji (eye) OUT: Ari Piol (Achilles) OUT: DeAndre Yedlin (hamstring) That means Engel should start, and that Stijn might be available too.
I thought I remember hearing that Eneli was out until mid March. Is that still the case? I don't remember hearing anything about Luna though. Has anyone heard?
Pablo on the espn 700 said when they looked at Luna’s MCL, they saw other stuff that made them worried about the “structure of his knee”. So they gave him PRP injections which will put him out at least two weeks. That leaves 1 possible game before the March window. Poch said about this upcoming window “The idea is that the World Cup will start in March, when we will all be together” and “I think for us, always, it’s about bringing the players that are fit - Of course, in the past, we dealt with some situations - like injuries or players not in good form - and that affected the roster and building the squad.” So I could be convinced either way; That the USMNT told Luna to try to get it sorted ASAP/ not play for RSL so he can be there in March, or that he just won’t be fit or in-form enough for March, meaning most likely not May. I am really not sure. But unless he is the exception (which he may be because Poch is a big fan) I think we will know in a few weeks if he is World Cup bound or not.
Obviously I was more referencing my comment that Luna will be at the World Cup barring an injury in the podcast
