We are 9 days away from the game and I thought I would get this up to see what if anything will be different by the time game rolls around. I get to go to wedding on the night so will not get to see a game until LAFC rolls in to town on the 25th. I don't think that Eneli will be back. At least I hope not. Don't rush that foot injury. Luna will be out so this has a give the kids a shot game written all over it. One game in the next twenty is a good time to get some players some time with the first team and then get super rusty. RSL always struggles after a long lay off. DC United is still struggling but they have more than
We are at pretty much rock bottom, so I predict a convincing win so the FO can claim that everything is juuuust fine.
With this much time away you’d hope the club had time to work on some specific things - eg set piece defending - that have really hampered performances I also think this team is exactly where it belongs
Being at the pool is ok if you aren’t missing training or rehab. Being at the pool during your team’s game and not being the slightest interested in the game is not ok.
I was just joking. Clearly the dude is well within his rights to be at the outdoor pool at the gym 9 days from the next match. Plenty of WAG/HAB-worthy people dressing for a weekend at Ibiza too. I stuck out like a sore thumb, largely because I have melanoma in the family history and didn’t take it seriously at all until I had my own kids. Now I’m SPF 50 long sleeve shirt dude at the pool, wearing the full cover sun hat if I’m not actively swimming & splashing. It’s funny because it’s sad.
Anybody watch what happened to DC this weekend? 7-1 shellacking from Chicago on a whole bunch of through balls. Can we do that?
Have we scored on any through balls this season? I keep waiting to see us use Agada's or Piol's speed with balls over the top or through, because I don't think we have yet.
Ah, no. They make the runs, the midfield and backline watch them make runs, and then pass the ball back and forth to each other. Here's another anecdotal observation, RSL is terrible after breaks. You would think that they would be practiced up and ready to go but it never seems to be the case.
Making a good run and making a realistic run are two different things. I think from the stands we see a lot of vertical runs that seem to be nothing but open space. The problem is the guy on the ball doesn’t have the angle to get the ball there, or the ability to hit the ball needed. not to mention that good forwards make 9 runs in a game hoping to get the ball on the 10th. That’s purposeful. Moving the backline to create space is vital to any system. In fact, it’s something this current system struggles with. Too often that forward gets stagnant
Listening to the RSL Show, it was brought up that RSL has 8 wins in the last 30 MLS games (includes playoffs). Will this be #9? It is the only home game this month and one to honor Rimando. I know Cabral will show up. Who else will? The lineup should be interesting. No Luna, no Marczuk, no Eneli. Gozo will be coming back from his NT stuff. Does Goncalves show up? Right now my guess is: Cabral Caliskan Glad Vera Katranis Ruiz Ojeda Brook Gozo Wolff Agada Any other player news?
Forgot about that. Not necessarily the same thing, but Vera got time with the Monarchs before coming back and he couldn't go 90. Could happen to Glad I guess.
Questionable. Crazy that our starting pair of CBs both are out for concussion protocol…. Vera’s concussion was major. I still don’t know how bad Glad’s was. I didn’t see it live and couldn’t find a good angle on the actual contact when I looked back at the game.
Concussions suck The most innocuous looking ones can be the worst Especially if you have a history of them
If this is how the us is gonna play can we just have Luna back now? the usmnt forum is some of the most delusional shit. I don’t think any of those euro snobs on there actually know what they want besides to blame any negative performance on mls. It’s reminiscent of the president calling the good parts of the economy his and the bad parts someone else’s
I gave up on the BigSoccer USMNT forum long ago. There are a handful of thoughtful posters on there, but it is overwhelmed by the crazies you talk about. It is not an accurate snapshot of USMNT fandom at all. Ironically, the Politics & Current Events Forum has been an awesome community, which is now currently falling apart because the main moderator of this entire site has decided that we must entertain a MAGA troll. Not that MAGA isn’t allowed, but that it is allowed to spam pretty much any and EVERY thread with stupid trolling posts with no insight or analysis of context, just like the USMNT forum is infected with “MLS players aren’t worthy of the USMNT” crap that gets posted in every single thread on every single page in the USMNT thread. Lame.
The US played a B team against Turkiye and wasn't overwhelmed, surrendering a poor WPIOOTBGW goal and losing 2-1. Then made like 9 changes and trotted out a C team, getting steamrolled by Switzerland. There shouldn't be any surprise at how this one ended.
shouldn’t Especially since that Swiss squad is a legitimate darkhorse material buttttt there were mls players on the field and the snobs were frothing at the mouth
