Wow, don't see the not-offside-on-a-throw-in lead to a goal in professional soccer too often. Ouch. Beaten mentally and physically.
I love the dude in the stands who celebrated the goal by flashing us his beer gut! Thanks for that. (For the record, I am not passing judgement on beer guts as I have a generous one. Though I try to keep it covered up, at least in public.)
David Estrada and Kelyn Rowe seem like guys to keep on the radar. David Estrada (24 yrs old) has started the season hot with Seattle, but may get pushed out of some minutes by EJ. I've only seen highlights of him - what do people who have watched full games think about him? Also, Kelyn Rowe (20 yrs) has been performing well at NE - named the best rookie so far by this mlssoccer.com article: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/04/12/rookie-report-mighty-mite-rowe-looms-large-revolution
I think that Demerit was just too agressive in going for the ball and just missed (tried the old reach around with the leg ploy). Simple as that. Stupid play in that he didn't need to be aggressive at the time (especially as the last defender.
Freddy Adu seems to be playing a left midfield/wing role for Philly today. Only 7 minutes in so I haven't quite figured out his role, but looks like this -------------X Adu----x------x------x -------------x x-------x---------x------x ------------x
Adu wins a penalty with a right footed shot that was knocked down with an elbow. (Dirty chip for the penalty by the way)
anyone watchin the other games feel free to chime in , especially interested in Lee Nguyen stealing Feilhaber's spot from him. Wondering if it speaks of how good Lee has been or how poor Benny has been or both, but the Revs in general have been a surprise. DeLeon as well who sounds like hes giving Rowe a run for his money at ROY Also curious about Estrada and Cascio in the other game.
Adu off at the hour mark. I know he's been black listed by many, but I love Okugo long term and he gets 20 minutes in mop up duty.
really? like who?? I like Okugo too. why blacklist him hes a good young defensive mid Im not seeing much from Columbus right now as far as national team prospects go, theyll be picking around the top of the draft this year i think
Kenny Cooper with goal and an assist 25 minutes in vs SJ NY Red bulls lead 2-1, Wondo made a very nice pass on the sequence for SJ's goal
Wondo levels it! Him and Cooper now have 7 goals each. Can't wait to see them both play together in January
Wondo just scored. There seems to be no defense on this Red Bull team. It seems Kenny Copper has passed Juan Agudelo on the New York Red Bulls scoring chart in just 6 games Both Wondo and Cooper are having strong MLS seasons so far.
