I work for a construction firm in the Hamptons. I am the business manager, but at times have worked in the field. out here in the hamptons about half the laborers are imigrant Latin Americans. I was talking with Segungo, one of the laborers today about soccer, and he cant wait till the MLS cup starts. he is a huge LA fan. He plays in a league in East hampton, and took a full month long vacation from work to watch every game of the world cup on TV. Its amazing thast the Metros haven't set up group trips into games from places like the hamptons. they would get 1, or 2 full busses per game from out here. and these guys make about 800/week, so they even have expendable income. MLS needs more Segundos at games. even if he is an LA fan at a NY game.
I agree with you. MLS needs to really try hard to capitalize on these fans somehow. I don't know how but maybe the bus thing is a good idea.
