For those of us who can't make everyone home or away match, is MLS Direct Kick worth getting? How much does it cost? How many matches do you get?

    Thanks a lot.

For me, it was worth it, and I DID make it to every home game (except one playoff match). There's nothing like watching pretty much every match on tv. Some days, I watched a 2:00, 4:00 7:00 and 9:00 match (give or take a half hour)... that rocked.

    It's 69.99 this year, I think... up 20 bucks.

You'll get pretty much every match... all the ones that are on fox networks, I think... that's most of them.

Some days, you'll have to choose... and if one match is a little boring, switch to the other...

This year, with the new baby (wow, not so new anymore... over a year!) and barely working last year, I had to get a 7 game plan... so I'll be relying on it a lot more.

Holy moley... I just realized... I spent more on one ManU v. Bayern match than I did for the full season of direct kick.

Editing to add one more thing. I have directv... I love it on directv... I was pissed, pissed, pissed when I had at&t broadband. They screwed me over far too often.

Sweet an Ipswich Town fan...LOL...I some have ancestors that originate in that area. I understand about having a child....I have a soon to be 2yr girl, being a Dad is GREAT, but a lot of work and $$$$.

So how bad is Comcrap, concerning MLS Direct Kick? I have thought long and hard about getting a dish...seeing is that I wanna follow La Liga and Serie A on GolTv and Comcrap doesn't carry that channel....wankers!

Does Comcast Chicago offer the MLS package?

Yeah, Ipswich... used to live about five miles outside, in a little dinky town called Kirton.

Ummm... well, Comcast bought AT&T Wireless a couple years ago. I don't know if Comcast improved the service or not. One of my major problems with them was that they didn't devote channels to the shootout package (what it was called until this year). It was fine for awhile, but when college football season started, they put it on the same channels as MLS... so, of course, MLS matches got bumped in favor of the football. They'd play them later (usually), but I, like most people, like my matches live. DirecTV has channels that are specifically for the direct kick... more than they need actually... and they keep them around well after the season is over.

Also, I had to call AT&T more than once to explain to them that I had paid for a package and was supposed to be seeing a game. "I don't know how that happened. Your account was reset, and your package was gone." blah blah blah.

    I was just never satisfied.

DirecTV doesn't carry GolTV either. In fact, one can't even get Fox Sports World without buying a $12.00 (last time I checked) package with a bunch of regional fox channels. Of course, I get the shootout and don't watch any other sports... so that's useless for me... but I miss my FSW... of course, it was still worth it, and cheaper to get the dish.

So it's up to you! But, whatever you do, get the shootout... direct kick... if you plan to watch a lot of matches from home. That was your original question... and my answer is still, yes.... it's worth it.

Comcast Chicago was AT&T Broadband... so I would imagine they do.

It's worth every cent. Not only can you pick up the occasional Fire match that's not broadcast in Chicago, but it's great to be able to scout the opposition as well.
