Hey guys, I wrote an e-mail to the Quakes about two weeks ago and still have yet to hear about any MLS Cup ticket plans for a potential San Jose section. Anybody else have some new info? Thanks, Charles
A representative of ClubQuake (Pat) is supposedly looking into group tickets for Foxboro, according to the last general email from the club. I will buy three once I hear about this from the club. I seriously doubt the Earthquakes office will organize any kind of rooting section; I don't believe they've ever done that before (it's up to the host sites to determine ticketing -- the Crew were just more organized last year). Problem with buying group tix now is I think (just from reading posts in old threads about this) that some people don't want to commit until they're sure the Quakes are playing--makes it kind of an expensive proposition if the supporters club fronts big bucks for a section (see "Super Groups" below) and then gets caught holding 'em. Snippet of a press release from the Revs site. I think it's a week old, so I presume "Thursday" was in fact last Thursday: FOXBORO, MA - Single-game tickets go on sale Thursday for Major League Soccer's premier event, MLS Cup, which now calls New England's sparkling jewel, Gillette Stadium, home for 2002. {snip} Groups of 20 or more in each seating level receive pricing of $40, $25 or $18 at the various levels. "SuperGroups" of 100 or more receive significant discounts, pricing out at $35, $22 or $15. Revolution season ticket "Center Circle Members" will have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets at preferred prices. Tickets go on sale at the state-of-the-art Gillette Stadium and all TicketMaster outlets Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. For more information, call the Revolution toll-free at 1-877-GET-REVS.
Reply about MLS Cup Finally received a reply from the Quakes: Greetings Charles. Thank you for your email. We have not yet set any arrangements with CMGI field for an Earthquakes section in the MLS Cup. You can also contact Club Quake, our supporters group, if they have any sections reserved for the cup. They can be reached at www.clubquake.org. Again, thank you for your support of the San Jose Earthquakes and we hope to see you in New England. I might just pick up some tickets behind the goal and hope that's what works out
Re: Reply about MLS Cup The team is referring you to OUR supporters club. Why would you call the Revs for that. Maybe I misread, but I'm confused.
Yeah, he said get in touch with Club Quake, but no word thus far from them (unless I am [hopefully] wrong). The previous post had mentioned the home site takes care of ticket distribution/organization which is why I had mentioned I might give NE a call. However, with their front office situation, who knows what will happen
Gottcha now. I'm sure you can always do what I did last season. I decided at the last minute to go. So I just bought a ticket wherever. But I sat with the group at the game. I'm not sure how much crap you'll get in NE for moving sections though. I just can't see them giving you too much hassle if you do end up doing this. I mean they have to understand that's how things always end up working.
That's the master plan for now...hopefully they'll make it like the US games and have the goal section GA, but I believe Gillette is an all-seater. This might get difficult with more people (right now it's just me and my girlfriend), but we shall see. Anyone have any idea of how quickly tickets are going now? I don't want to be stuck in the upper deck
Hi all, There's been a raging discussion on Yahoo groups about this. The Empire Supporters Club (NY) contacted the league several weeks ago about reserving sections for fans of the participating teams. They're also trying to make it so supporters that buy in advance can transfer into those sections if their team makes the final. The league claimed to be working on it... In the meantime, if someone would like to help Pat (events@clubquake.org) get a headcount of both Club Quake members and SJ fans in general heading to Foxboro, perhaps we can hit the Revs discount price points. I was thinking, "I'm not sure why NE is so slow on this," but hey... it's a Kraft-run team. Mike
