http://www.globe.com/dailyglobe2/288/sports/Ticket_sales_have_increased+.shtml "Boston-based announcer Andres Rodriguez and the MetroStars' Ernesto Motta have been selected to provide ABC-TV's Spanish-language commentary for the MLS Cup" Something many people have commented on over the past 7 years. Good move by MLS to finally utilize SAP.
I am used to listening to Andres Cantor, Jorge Ramos and Eduardo Motta (NY Metrostars). Yes, they have a lot of passion. But we have to admit that Jack Edwards is pretty passionate about the US team.
Radio Unica is also carrying the match coast to coast and webcast, most likely it will be Jorge Ramos at their mike. And SportsLine USA with John Shrader will be doing the same in English. Wider coverage than ever before
That Radio Unica coverage is great, much more important than the SAP. It really has the potential to open MLS up to a bigger spanish-speaking audience. The article I read about it said that Unica hadn't sold much ad revenue for the game yet, but that they were hopeful they could. I hope so. What is SportsLineUSA Warren? Is that a syndicated radio network or an internet station? I like John Schrader, he does a nice job with the Quakes.
It is an over the air syndicated radio network with many may affiliates, although they do miss some major cities. They are also on the Satellite Radio system called "Sirius Satellite Radio" and can be heard in various overseas areas via the American Forces Radio Network. If you check out site we have lots of info, affiliate lists, links to the English and Spanish broadcasts. The analyst with John Shrader will be Ridge Mahoney from SoccerAmerica magazine. Radio Unica has confirmed that Jorge Ramos will be narrating this match (with Hernán Pereyra and the Unica team) I'm glad to see indications that MLS is starting to take radio more seriously, it would be great if more teams began local radio in 2003.
