DAVIDSON 4th - TBA The Revs/Crew match has what are probably two of the best ARs in the world, nevermind the US, paired together. These look like very good crews, though Corrie and Prus have very different styles than Hall and Terry. Anyway, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Kennedy or Hall gets the MLS Cup. I'll also guess that Stott gets Match 3 of the Revs/Crew game.
Agree 110% with your remarks about Lowery and Eddy. Even agree with Hall have different style from others. But Corrie, Prus and Terry having very different styles?????? Dont know about that. I think most in USSF would say the two Brits have very similar styles. Possibly Prus also.
You don't think Terry fits in more with Hall than with Corrie and Prus? Maybe I'm wrong, I haven't seen Terry that much until recently.
I'd say that Corrie and Terry have very similar styles. Both let a lot go that's for sure, and frankly I think it comes back to bite them more often than not. I haven't seen enough of Prus or Hall in the middle of MLS games this year to comment on where fit in with that group.
"It comes back to bite them"??? I wonder where you get that idea from? I watch a ton of MLS games, and whether you like their (British) style of refereeing, the fact is those two - and a couple of others - very seldom have the sort of major flare up you see too often in MLS. When they do have a serious incident, they usually do what they have to and they prevent it from escalating.
I guess having seen some of Corrie's games up close and in person is what colors my opinion. Plenty of flare ups I have seen, primarily due to the fact he doesn't seem to protect players until it's too late. Same for Terry, unless he has changed somewhat recently. I only saw a couple of his games this season. But you're right, I do prefer a bit of a more hands on style. And I wouldn't characterize their style as British necessarily. I know plenty of English refs who call a close game. Just as there are different styles in this country there are different styles in others.
Well, your entitled to your opinion of course. One of the great things about this game, and one of the things that must make a refs job so tough, is fans can have exactly opposite opinions of them.
