MLS Cup 2002 postgame thread [R]       Welcome to the ranks of MLS Cup Champions, and good job in helping to keep The Cup in California for the second straight year.       Congratulations on the 1-0 MLS Cup 2002 overtime win. -G
not that I care...but for those that havent watched this match...the title of this thread is a spoiler...You're a mod, you should know that
*yawn* oh, is it over? The greater of the two evils win. MLS champs just the same. Congrats Galaxy fans!!
Congrats, the Galaxy deserved this for being the most consistent team in league history and for holding all the league's major records and the LA fans deserved this for sticking by their team after all the other close calls. I'm a United fan but with LA finally getting the Cup to add to its Concacaf Championship, it's Open Cup (and perhaps 1 more Thursday, though I expect them to be quite flat) and 2 Supporters' Shields, I have no choice to concede that over the course of the 7-year history of the league, the Galaxy are the class of MLS. Again, congrats.
L.A. the better team in extra time... Although I was quite unhappy with the poor play during regular time, it became very clear that L.A. was the better team in extra time. You guys outplayed us BY FAR in Golden Goal, and, therefore, deserve the victory. Congratulations to L.A. and all their great fans for a HUGE win.
Congrats Congrats on your win, you deserved it today and for being the best team this season, well done.
Congrats LA. The best team in the league won today. You took NE's best shot and trumped their intensity- you simply weren't to be denied. Now make it two Cups!
Good game. Cobi Jones was the best player on the field today. Too bad he didn't score the game winner. Oh well, Congrats to LA!!
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Galaxy for finally winning the MLS Cup--the fourth time is the charm. Classic OT with classic saves, and a fair and keen goal from Carlos Ruiz. Didn't get it with the bicycle kick but definitely had another run which shows why he is the MVP. I haven't checked as of yet, but I will presume he is the game MVP. Too bad ABC had to cut out and leave the trophy presentation. With all the hardware in their case, they finally have the Rothenburg Trophy to show. We'll see you next year for MLS Cup 2003 in Los Angeles. Cheers!
