I'm not usually a person who bitches about MLS not promoting itself to the public. I realize that its expensive to get air time for that sort of thing but I think MLS is really missing out this year. This MLS Cup will feature the best teams in the league BY FAR. No one really comes close to either side. Both sides have likeable, young stars who are American, both sides will bring with them raucous crowds, and both sides play an attractive style of soccer. This is the Super Bowl of American Soccer, I wish MLS would put more money into promoting the hell out of this game this year. I'm sitting there watching College Football on Saturday afternoon on ABC and ESPN and not a single promotion for MLS Cup aired. I wish MLS would not only buy the the air time for commercials, but ask ESPN to do prievew shows for the Championship game, and request Sportscenter to do some specials on the game. Maybe even having an ESPN soccer set, with Rob Stone, Ty Keogh, and Eric Wynalda on sight at the HDC the way they would send gameday to the Sugar Bowl for about a week, the way they send the ESPN Gameday crew out to the Superbowl host city for a week. Contract ESPN and Fox Sports Net to create special preview shows about the storylines of the game. Have a show on Donovan and DMB playing soccer together since they've been on the U17s. Their relationship, their trip to the WC, and how they will react to playing one another at such high stakes. Hell this is stuff I Want to know. Do a special on Damani Ralph's career path from Jamaica to JUCO in the South, to UConn, to being a 2nd Round Draft pick, to being the MLS rookie of the year. Hell, have a media day! I know its expensive, but somethings are worth it.

    OK rant over :) Opinons?
