George Michael's "Sports Machine," shown nationally on NBC, gave 20 seconds to the MLS Cup. I remember when he used to give zero.

    One step at a time.

Put one step in front of the other...

George Michael's "Sports Machine" sports machine viewership rises during the NFL season.

This is good news that we got 20 seconds of coverage on a Sunday when there are plenty of NFL highlights to be shown.

Last year, DeRosario's game winner was the "Play of the Day"

    Keep it coming George!

Just a slight correction, "Sports Machine" is a syndicated show, as here in the Buffalo area, it airs on our ABC channel, WKBW-TV-Channel 7. ("Sports Extra" which is produced by WGRZ-TV-Channel 2 and airs on our NBC Channel airs opposite of the "Sports Machine". ) I know the station that produces George's show is an NBC channel and the show does air on more NBC channels than CBS/ABC etc which is why more people think it airs nationally on NBC.

I must have blinked and missed it.

MLS Cup gets twenty seconds, and a feature on Reggie Jackson gets five minutes. I know the World Series is on, but Jesus Christ, the Reggie Jackson story has been done to death...

Same with this year for Ruiz's OT game winner.

George also mentioned that this was the longest game in MLS Cup history -- good that he threw in that historical note to give the game some significance and context given the 20 second slot on "Sports Machine" that he gave it.

    I'll be da**ed.
I stopped watching GM's show because he always has baseball, NFL, and basketball, not to mention the poodle contests...but no soccer!
Oh well...at least the MLS got 20 seconds.:)
Anyone know about the TV ratings?
