wow, never thought this thread would ever be in the boards.

    PRAY FOR TAYLOR!

    Brown
    Heaps Llamossa Kante Franchino
    Ralston Pierce/Cullen Kamler
    Hernandez
    Twellman/chacon Harris
Or course this all depends on Taylor, I like Rusty in D-Mid although i love what Cullen has been doing for us.

    Revs 3-0 Galaxy
    Home crowd prevails!

You can bet the bank that Cullen will start at DMF and Rusty will be sitting and only play if we need to fill a holein an emergency.

SN will do what's gotten us here-- a solid defense and looking to get an early goal.

    I predict that:
    (1) TnT will play
    (2) The game will be scoreless except for one of the teams blinking at the wrong time with the result being a 1-0 win.

I don't know whick team will blink but I do think giving up the two goals was a good thing and will sober the lads up.

this is going to be one helluva match. my own predictions:

1- Twellman will start, but will probably not finish the match. OR he will come on as a sub to make a push if it is tied or down by one.

    2- Lineup
    -------------Brown---------------
    Heaps--Llamosa--Kante--Franchino
    -------------Cullen---------------
    Ralston----Hernandez-------Kamler
    --Twellman/APC-------Harris------

3- Score - Ruiz will find net. I hate to say this, but he IS a good scorer. Note how i did not say good player. However, he will only find it once, and Brown will deny him up the wazoo the rest of the time. Harris will find net as well. I will be brave in sayin Twellman will as well. BUT - OT is definately in the cards, especially on how TnT performs.

    BOTTOM LINE -
Will definately be an interesting game, back and forth, good chances for each side. Revs pull it out at home.

Much depends on our wounded and how they heal. Because this is a one off, for the whole enchilada people may play who wouldn't if there was a longer calendar. This leads to questions re. both Rusty and TnT. If Rusty starts he may well break down in the middle of the game. I'd go for Heaps, Franchino, Kante and Llamosa in the back, if Carlos's head isn't still ringing. Cullen has to stay where he is, don't tamper with success at this point. Then it comes down to Twellman. If he can push off, plant and cut on the knee, then play, if not, don't. A wounded Twellman just isn't going to do the business. His margins for shooting, positioning and holding are paper thin when he is healthy. If he is slowed down by injury he won't get free at all and actually be a liability. So APC, who played very well Saturday, if TnT is down.

Fuller, who tries hard and has the right idea, just scares me because of his lack of pace. Griffiths just isn't up to it. I hope Cloutier can come back because we may need him if anyone goes down or if the game goes into Golden Goal. He is a player who can handle the pressure at this level.

Full kudos to the Revs and much luck.

i have a funny feeling TnT will see some playing time. after all, he faced chicago (i think) in the regular season while suffering from a stomach virus, maybe even food poisoning. that's impressive. you can't convince me that taylor's not gonna do everything in his power to get onto that field next week.

you know, is there a majority of any team's fans/posters that aren't pulling for l.a. to go down in this one? i think maybe metro fans may be the only team i haven't seen represent.

yeah, well, metro fans are 1) self-righteous, and 2) bitter. since they're not in the playoffs, it doesn't make a difference to them.

Sweet Lord, a Pre-MLS Cup finals thread featuring the Revs.

I think Twellman will play. Rusty MUST sit; you can't take Cullen out with what he's been doing lately. Everything else stays the same.

Coming from a Galaxy supporter from the beginning, we are the most hated team in the league's history with the possible exception of DC the first few years. I have been reading various boards, and the sentiments are the same; LA sucks, Ruiz sucks, Cobi rules, LA sucks...
It's old news, especially from the SJ fans. They are still whining about getting shafted by the referee. Nevermind their superstar Money Shot (seen that picture of him at the drinking fountain?) was a big time flop and the rest of the cast stunk up the park.
Anyways, I saw the G's play NE in the Rose Bowl back a few months. We won 2-1 but it was an interesting match. You guys have been hot as of late, have the home crowd and weather advantage going for you...
Hopefully more than 9,000 will show up. That is really pathetic.

don't worry, schochee, we've already gone well past 9k as far as ticket sales have gone so far. if you don't see around 40,000; then THAT would be pathetic.

I think Llamosa will be able to handle Ruiz fine... Cobi Jones may be another story though..well see.
    1-0 on a Kamler goal.

Thousands? If you have thousands of fans that will travel to beat up on us poor helpless LA fans, how is it you can't get them to show up for more than 2 games?

Whhaaaaaa! One hit wonder #3. Maybe KC can ship out there fan grief councilors to SJ...

PS - New England fans have always been a great group despite the garbage the FO put on the field. But we will beat you come Sunday. Cmon. Admit it. Your defense stinks against anyone other than an eastern division team. Coughing up 2 late goals in that last game was pathetic.

    GO REVS

From a United fan, I want to send all the luck to the REVS. Let's make the Galaxy the Bills and Broncos of MLS.

I LOVE IT!!!! L.A. blows chunks and they will choke so bad just like the three other times. I am pretty sure that the game will be sold out. YES SOLD OUT!!!

You guys really know how to support your team. I remember when the REVS sucked and still you avg. close to 20K.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

Apparently, you have already sold 30k plus for the home game of MLS cup. Good for you. And hopefully it will be higher. Of course, if it was at the Rose Bowl, it'd be 60k+, but I digress.

As for the rest of the league hating LA, I wear that as a badge of honor.

    We shall prevail.

And half of them would be wondering when the Necaxa game was going to kick off.
You know, we gave up fewer goals in the three game SERIES against Columbus than you did in your last game against the Crew.

FWIW, LA's last few road games:

    10/09 @ Colorado - 1-0 (W)
    09/28 @ Kansas City - 1-4 (L)
    09/21 @ San Jose - 1-0 (W)
    09/07 @ Chicago - 2-1 (W)
    08/24 @ Dallas - 0-1 (L)
    08/14 @ Columbus - 2-3 (L)

Also, the Galaxy were 2-4 against Eastern Conference opponents on the road this year, including a loss at Gillette Stadium earlier this year, so I wouldn't be too quick to bash the East.

I think Ralston will be the deciding factor. I still can't get over how good that goal he scored against Columbus last week. For a second the Revs looked like Brazil, except without the diving. Sorry JMM, but Ralston is probably the best Revs player ever.

2-0 Revs with Ralston and a Hernandez free kick.

In today's globe, a Rev staffer says that they've sold over 30k so far, including 10k in the last 2 days.
