Definitely because I’ve always hated the Steelers and the browns is more like a sibling rivalry and we are the lil brother who is bigger and wins more often

Children. Art Modell fired Paul Brown. Because he did not like the fact that, you know, the Browns are named after him (yes, I know, not officially). Despite winning 7 championships. And being the greatest head coach of all time (ask Bill Belichik). I guess Bengals fans should thank Modell in a way, as firing Brown led to the formation of the Bengals. But it was a purely ego driven move, done during a newspaper strike to minimize coverage. And Modell was a colossal pr!ck. A small man with an oversized ego. As Browns fans would discover later on, much to their sorrow. Fcuk him!
I agree with everything you say about Modell, but without his transgressions we may not have Saved The Crew. The "Modell Law" created the delay, and the threat, that we needed at the time to allow Haslam/Edwards to do the deal that sent precourt packing, without his team.
Well said. I'm not going to celebrate Art Modell, but June 20th is the date that ORC 9.67 was passed. The date is definitely worth a small celebration. Without Art, we have no law. Without the law, we have no downtown stadium.

Sometimes I like to remind myself that we were very, very close to losing the team forever but instead of that happening, the team was saved and we won the league within a couple years. Apologies in trophies.
