ITS THE FINALE. DESTINY IS UPON US. OUR LOVABLE HEROES, BACKED BY MILLIONS OF CITIZENS, MARCH TO THE FINAL! IN THE SEMIFINAL, THEY SLAYED THE GHOSTS AND DEMONS OF CREW'S PAST, OVERCOMING A LEADER AND FOE WHO HAD ALWAYS DEFEATED THEM! NOW COMES THE FINAL. THE OPPONENT IS UNKNOWN, THE MINIONS OF E.V.I.L. WORKING HARD TO KEEP THE CREW IN THE DARK AS LONG AS THEY CAN, BUT IT WILL NOT MATTER! NOTHING CAN STOP THIS BAND OF HEROES FROM CLAIMING GLORY!
Don't wait for a code if you have season tickets. Log in and buy now. I have my tickets. See you Saturday!
OK, so we can start asking the question now. Do we have a preference for who our opponent is? I think the obvious answer is to avoid Seattle, as they're the defending champs and are the better team on paper. But Minnesota seems to have a team of destiny thing happening. They have everything working for them. I have a feeling I know what the consensus is, but I think it's a toss-up. [Edit: Because I'm an idiot and said Nashville instead of Minnesota the first time. I need coffee.]
Match will be televised on FOX. Not Fox Sports One, not FS2, not Fox Soccer Plus, not ESPN U News 3. FOX, the mothership.
Congratulations to you! I just signed in to my STM account and didn't have the option under "tickets" (no upcoming events). If anyone has access to a pair and isn't planning on using them, I'd be happy to take them off your hands. @zman31 : does it appear to be possible to transfer tickets (not that you want to)?
Ugh, wish I had better news. I'm hearing from many places it's gone. Only thing I can say is that I have 23 years of tenure. But when I logged in to account manager there was a Crew v Western Champ option. I selected, bought 4 and checked out. Now I'm worried I don't really have tickets...limbo is terrible.
I would prefer Minny, not because I think it would be easier to beat them, but because I could bear a loss to them easier. And Finlay & Kei are on the team.
Hopefully Room will be ready to start by Saturday and Francis good enough to make the bench. I think we have a shot at Etienne back, but Diaz has been darn good the last two games. Cadden is probably toast.
As for CCL, we know: 1. MLS Cup Champ: Crew/Sea/Minny 2. SS Winner: Philadelphia 3. MLSiB Winner: Portland ------------- 4th spot is the question. In years past, the #4 slot would go either to the team with the best regular season record not already qualified or the best team in the conference opposite the SS winner. That is SKC this year on both counts. MLS Cup runner-up also got a CCL ticket in the more distant past. My tinfoil hat wearing self thinks US Soccer will try their darndest to get Seattle in. If the Sounders make the Final & lose, I bet they take the Cup runner up. If not, SKC. *EDIT*: And in fairness, with how lopsided/strange/short the schedule was this year, it might not be the best year to lean on regular season records.
I went to the link for the general public lottery and it said I needed a code. Does anyone know what the code is?
I had one hell of a time trying to enter the ticket lottery, but I finally figured it out. Doubt I'll win, but if I do . . . Well, my wife and I had a good 17 year run.
I was going to enter the playoff lottery, but not sure I can afford to put up the money upfront not knowing if I'm getting tickets,
My link said the lotto thing closes on Dec 10th. So we could (should?) know if we have tickets by then.
I wasn’t able to do anything via my computer but was able to put in for public lottery on my phone. Think all the tix will be accounted for by priority season ticket holders and then the scalping market is gonna be on fire.
The announcers kept saying this is the last game at MAPFRE. Maybe they know something we don't about a looooooong roadtrip to start next season?
The thing that makes it more interesting is that USSF and MLS announced that the MiB slot for the Portland Timbers replaced the spot reserved for the best finisher in the conference opposite the SS. The CCL spot still up for grabs is technically the Open Cup slot
