I saw this for the first time yesterday during the DC-Metros match, and i think it is the best MLS commercial that i have ever seen it seemed to be done at a much higher level than any of their other commercials... last year's "i believe in mls", this year's "strike force", shoot out, to you name it twas nice to see -jim
The key question is. Will anybody not watching a MLS game ever see it? If I see it during Penn State - Nebraska tomorrow then I'll be impressed.
i was thinking the same thing, but you do have to admit... that is a damn good commercial some of the ones i have seen, i would really cringe if i saw it shown on anything but soccer programming... that one would be great to show on other programming... i hope that they do -jim
I saw the commercial with the volume turned all the way down and it struck me as entirely inappropriate that just after the 9/11 Memorial to open the game they were advertising a bunch of athletes as "heroes". I'm hoping that I missed something because of the lack of audio. (Even more inappropriate was the next montage, which showed the Space Gals and labeled them "champions". BWA HA HA HA HA!)
I completley agree...but I also think it won't be shown enough and in highly publicized places that a ot of people will watch it. My advice? Just make people watch it with you. My roommates are being forced to watch every soccer game that's on...and some have converted to major soccer fans!
i'm not even going to get into how many people i have forced to watch soccer and now respect the game, have gone to matches with me and continue to go to matches and watch games on their own
It was a damn good commercial. Best MLS commercial ever. I would love to see that commercial during Monday Night Football. Heck, even during Sportscenter would be nice.
All I know is that during the MSG telecast of DCU v. Metro on Sat. night, I saw an ad for the MLS All Star game.
While it may be for ABC, it certainly was not produced by ABC as MLS is a time buy on ABC and ABC would have no business reasons to produce a commerical for a time buy program. Andy
Saw the commercial a couple (3 and I wasn't always watching) of times today while watching college football. It was the E. Carolina-W. Virginia game which is on ABC here in Boston (ESPN+ was broadcasting and the affiliate just picked up the game). Good to know that it's being shown and publicized during a non-soccer game.
nice, mlsnet now has it on their site i haven't been there in a week or two... they have changed the appearance a bit for the cup... i like it!! oh yeah, the movie is quick time (like everything else mlsnet ever has ) aye, nice to hear it is on elsewhere... it's a nice piece -jim
